As above... (obviously as midfield mid-pricers/cheap premiums)

upthemaidens

or niether.  have been considering all combinations
the one thing thats a bugger is, i want selwood and if i take barlow then thats 2 premiums to have rd.12 bye,,,which is fine, but then to have a collingwood mid would mean a zero in rd 12.  and to go into a season without swan or pendlebury for the first 12 weeks seems pretty foolish.
ofcourse that isnt such a problem with hayes, but he is older and seems to me to be alittle more of a risk..  probably just see how they are traveling during nab and see how the team falls into shape money wise

Yeah, that's a good call - in the end, most of my decisions re. my team come down to money/structure, and, of course, the round 1 teams when they're named!

Interesting re. Selwood - I'm a massive Cats fan, but haven't even given him a second thought! From my point of view, he's a player that puts himself in so much danger, he's always at risk of being KO'ed & missing weeks through concussion!! But more importantly, I'm just not sure he's ever going to be able to elevate himself to those ridiculous averages like GAJ, Swan & Pendles of 120+ ppg over an entire season - more a player that will average 110-118ppg over 20 or so games per season.

Now that's nothing to sneeze at, but I reckon Barlow's got about the same scoring potential as Selwood, but he cost $150,000 less!! That's an easy decision for mine.

As far as the bye rounds go, so far my mid prems are: Pendles, GAJ, Barlow & Hayes - giving me 2 prem mids missing during the Rd.12 bye & 2 during the Rd.13 bye. I like that combination of different bye rounds, different team, super-premiums in Pendles & GAJ, and bargain premiums in Barlow & Hayes... If Santa had been really good to me, he would've given me a way to have all those guys + Swanny... But I reckon I'm just dreaming there!!

well thats easy for you if ya dont want selwood, pick up the 2nd pie after the bye.
selwood got 117avg last year(i think) and thats with that concussed game, so that would mean 120 avg. in real terms.  but i see your point with him getting in harms way,,to be fair ablett will miss a few games (like normal) ... guess theres a long way to go and alot of team chances by round 1

Both plus grimes, Brown, Didak, Green, Roo and Porps, Gotta take these risks and go all out there's no prize for 2nd, If it comes off will be up there, If not have trades and will enjoy the rest of the season haha

nothing wrong with taking a risk, but remember . just because a player is a bargain doesnt mean its gunna be the most effective choice to make the most points.

I'm not worried about being effective i was in the top 5000 coz of that last year, I'm taking this risk for fun in mine, I have other sides in as well with other family members who don't play it so...all good fun ;-)

thats not what you said in there previous post!

now you spinning it too justify it (which the majority do on here)

imo its cheating what ever way you spin it knowing you will control the teams

cool i have  800 hundred family members and friends with their own e-mail address, they dont have anything to do with the teams, i make all the decisions on all starting line-ups and trades throughout the year..  so i have 800 teams, thats not cheating thats smart....
i play poker and i mark the cards so i know what other people have, thats not cheating thats smart..
i play cricket and i pick at the seam of the ball so it will do more off the pitch,, thats not cheating, thats smart..
  u see the pattern here?

Ziplock

mate, if you have the dedication to run 800 teams, you flowering deserve the 50k.

haha  zip  i was just trying to make a point..
the amount of time i spend on this silly thing we call  fantsy football, i probably could run 800 teams.  only need to win it every year to make an income  out of it haha..  and its tax free
