Has Watson got what it takes to be a top 10 DT'er? Injuries last couple of years has held him back. @ under 500k would you pick him?

I mean it's possible. from memory, up until injury in rd 8 he had the highest competition average behind swan, and he's an integral part of essendons midfield, a team that has a solid chance of improving next year. If he has a full pre-season... maybe... but it's an issue for you if he plays through injuries- he's just going to score like shower. Basically, unless you were using him as a huge punt, or one of your only risks, I would prefer just to fork out the extra cash for Ablett. Or, maybe even Andrew Swallow, who I rate to hit a 110+ season this year.

Thanks for the feedback oops lol on the 2009 Barlow thing. Just trying to work out what the  :P was all about you have them both in your current team at the moment im thinking. I will have a midfield starting with 4 premiums Swan,Pendles,Ablett and Thompson the other 2 spots will be upgraded into the next best scoring mids which i dont think will  be Barlow or Hayes just my take on it.

Ziplock

I over use the :P smilie chronically :P

Fair enough  :P  :P  :P  :P  :P

Thanks for the feedback. Im toying with the idea of having a fully loaded mid swan pendle ablett selwood r all lock ins watson was 5th and swallow 6th. Pending the midfield talent and performances in NAB cup i could cut that back to 5 or 4 mids.

Ziplock

I would cut that back. That's a lot of cash splurging, given that the strongest rookies are in the mids. I would probably go Pendle, Ablett, Selwood, Swallow :P

Phasir

glad I'm not the only one to think A.Swallow is gun material, can't wait to see him in the NAB Cup for validation.. would love that guy in my team :P

I started out with A. Swallow this season and it burnt me  :-X

Won't be taking the risk again

Ziplock

I had him as well... didn't really 'burn' me, but didn't lift his game.

ftr Phasir, he carved up in NAB last year (averaged over 120 points from memory), but still couldn't lift his DT game. However, he is still young, NM should improve, and he'll improve with it... he's primed for a premium breakout :P

Football Factory

The Roos have a decent draw this year GCFC and GWS twice  Gee,Coll,Haw,Carl only once. Could be his breakout year ?  :P

Back him in if you're ballsy enough but with Pendles, Swan and Gazza the big three (with Boyd + Rocky/Mitchell/Murphy/Jelwood not far behind) and Barlow and Hayes as cheapies he'd be fighting hard for a spot.

Also a Q for Zip.

What are the chances of extracting Jacobs or, Grimes or Armstrong from you in the Euros?
:P thanks.

I had Swallow last year and he was a real disappoinment and won't be going back there for 2012. He had a few games that drew a lot of praise but overall I was expecting better. Maybe 2012 will be his year and I was a year too early.

not very high, unless you have a lot to offer... if you look at my team, the backs are the only place I'm kind of lacking in :P

I had him last year too, was expecting a big output last year..maybe after this International Rules Series he'll be ready to step up.. also watching whether or not he gets Captaincy of NM, if he does I'd back him to get to around 110 avg
