But then if he they beat Australia again (somehow) then SL won't make the final PB  :o

Seriously though, India have come to Australia as a disgrace and looks like they'll be heading out as one. Poor spirit, whiny team and a captain who can't play fast enough

I seem to want India to win by the bonus point on Tuesday, just to make it even more interesting.

While I too would like to see that, it's not going to happen. India would need to produce the biggest ODI demolition in history to turn around that awful net run rate.

from Ca
In the event of teams finishing on equal points, the right to play in the final match or series will be determined as follows:

The team with the most number of wins
If still equal, the team with the most number of wins over the other team(s) who are equal on points and have the same number of wins
If still equal, the team with the highest number of bonus points
If still equal, the team with the highest net run rate

There you go. Thanks tabs. Channel 9 commentators were talking about India needing to improve the run rate to make finals, so I assumed it was the deciding factor.

So if India do win tomorrow with a bonus point, they would be equal on points, equal on wins and losses, however India would get through as they've beaten Sri Lanka 2-0. Damn.

TheMailman

Basically, India have to beat SL in Hobart by a bonus point, any less and they're out

After that they need to beat Australia, whether they get a bonus point or not doesn't matter

You mean Australia need to beat Sri Lanka in the final game for India to make it. ;)

the question is who does Australia want to play in the finals?? We have struggled against Sri Lanka this year. So if India beat Sri Lanka do we tank to play india in the finals??

If you'd rather play India in the finals, then why would you tank against Sri Lanka??

Here is a bigger question. Michael Clarke was rested from the match against India at the SCG last night with back soreness. With Clarke expected to return who will make way for him to come back into the side. Forrest has been on fire, David Hussey is the leading run scorer for the series, Mike Hussey has done wellas has Dan Christian. With Dave Warner finally getting runs who will it be?

And no way Watson will be dropped after his awesome bowling efforts. Probably Christian will make way. :-\

Cicjose

Warner will be dropped because the selectors cant have the 20/20 poster boy winning MOTM in one dayers and

he is the youngest of the top 6

TheMailman

Well look at it this way

Watson - No.

Warner - Got MOTM but really it was nothing special. Add to that his 20 average in ODIs. Possible

Forrest - 2nd best batter, No

M Hussey - Already got rested. No

D Hussey - Best Batter, no

Wade - No

Christian - Has done ok coming in batting and has had some good figures bowling. The fact he offers a bowling aspecst means hes unlikely

There I put it

75% Warner, 25% Christian due to the added all rounder benefits plus Clarke has played opener before albeit a very slow one

ossie85

Has to be Christian doesn't it? Haven't been that impressed with him, and bowled terribly in his last over in Hobart. Geez, basically handed SL the game.

Won't drop Warner, that's crazy talk.

Still leaves you with 4 full time bowlers. That's all you need

He did only go for 6.6 runs an over which isn't that bad (better than Lee and Harris)

Plus he picked up 3 wickets including Sangakkara and Mathews. IMO that almost wins the game for Aus
