you have conveniently forgotten the two years prior to that but i will let that slide
Form 2 years ago doesnt change how you play now, if we were dropping people on 2 years ago form, we would be in trouble.

no we wouldn't we would no worse off than we are now in terms of world ranking

but far better off for the experience you could have pumped into the youngsters

It's been like nearly a year since Sachin's last ton?  ???
Yeah, it has. He has one more shot at it later this test. And then there's the ODI's which he'll surely get one.
Haha, oops. He certaintly doesn't look like getting one yet.

And a couple of things i remember being said before the ODI series when i said SL would be a very difficult team to beat:

SL are one of the worst teams going around atm PB  ::)

Maybe if you actually watched a game you'd realise it  ::) Not just see the highlights...
Yes sir, i listen to the Master.

Aussies will demolish both SL and India in the ODI's. Neither of them perform well away from the flat tracks of the sub-continent, and all the Indians care about is the IPL which is just around the corner.
Hmmm, i totally agree. :P

I know everyone's entitled to their opinion, and you guys will find something i said that is way way off, but i remembered that something like this was said and just had to find it and quote it. :)

TheMailman

Yeah people make dumb predictions all the time so when the 1 in 100 comes true they look like stars for 5 seconds.

Next ODI to be won by 1 run  ;)

bomberboy0618

I was quoted by a guy from something I said in december :P.
I guess if it wont stand up over time then why say it.

You said that SL were one of the worst teams going around. And i think that it already been proved that they've played pretty well. Or am i watching another competition??

TheMailman

SL are both the best and the worst team in the world

They can beat South Africa and lose to Zimbabwae

They aren't one of the best. Plus India are a joke atm.

Well, i have to disagree there Q, coz they are World No. 4:

1. Australia - 129
2. India - 116
3. South Africa - 116
4. Sri Lanka - 113

They are one of the best, unless your definition is different to mine.

And remember they came to Australia, played one warm-up match (which was washed out) and went straight into ODI's on Australian home decks, where they perform pretty badly on in the past, as do India. So I think Sri Lanka are performing exceptionally well this tour, as the slow start can be put down to no warm-up matches.

EDIT: Sri Lanka actually played 2 wram up matches, and one was washed out.

Master Q

Everyone is allowed to voice their own opinion, but I disagree.

They got lucky against an under performing SA team and haven't been the best here.

Aussies have demolished India, and have been better than SL even without their best XI and plenty of rotations.

PowerBug

ok, understand your points. I guess it'll have to wait until later on to prove whether Sri Lanka are/aren't a bad ODI side.

2/98 from 25 australia but 72 dot balls in the innings

Forrest with 50

Clarke just threw his wicket away

3/181

154 run partnership

Forrest out for 104

4/201

and to think most people here didn't want Forrest in this side
