Apparently 90% of channel nine's viewers think resting Hussey and Sachin was ridiculous  :o

When did Australians get so dumb?

How was it NOT ridiculous?

Well, for starters

Tendulkar is in awful form, a small rest might do him the world of good. He just isn't dangerous when he comes out to bat

Michael Hussey has probably had a long summer too.

Keep in mind that they're both 38 and 36 respectively. Bodies slow down at that age
they are being rested just for the sake of being rested ::)

run out ::)
ffs Clarke you idiot ::)

No way that was Clarke's fault, like the commentators said, he can't be blamed.

Notice Clarke was home easyyyyyy, Warner is faster than Clarke, Warner could have run 1.5 runs if he didn't spend so much time running backwards and forwards

yeah but Clarke didn't have any look round and any stage to see what Warner was doing ::) plus Clarke should ahve sacrificed himself instead since Warner can score faster :P

It isn't Clarke's job to look what he's doing. If Warner don't want to run he's meant to say "NO!"

Clarke is playing better, in better form and scoring faster. Easily Warner should have been the one to go. Warner was REALLY struggling out there and it appeared only a matter of time before he was dismissed.

Is it just me who isn't entranced by this whole "Warner opening everything" show?

Ok I missed his first century in NZ so I wouldn't know about how he did there but I find him a really hit and miss person without any sort of consistency.

Sure he's perfect for T20 where you basically don't give a flower about your wicket and maybe even ODI's I could understand but he just doesn't seem to have the right technique for playing out overs. So many of his defensive shots come to be inside/outside edges and the amount of times he gets bowled is also worrying.

At the moment I'm much more inclined to have a Watson/Cowan opening stand then a Warner/Cowan or Warner/Watson stnad.

That said Watson is probably going down the order so that leaves little but Warner  :P

has done well as opener so far even in the tests
though his hit and miss reminds me a little of Gilchrist
he opened in ODI's but came in later in tests

hey is it just me or does forrest remind anyone of matthew hayden?
his big and solid like hayden and even that six back over the bowlers head was just like big matthew would of done

He's averaging 52.... so who really cares?

If you're averaging 50+ how can that be anything but bad? It'd be different if he was averaging 50 batting at 7, but he's averaging 50+ at the top of the order...

Well I'll answer with an analogy

Colin Sylvia still managed to average 91 in DT and 96 in SC, yet he was the bane of "black list" threads (apart from Higgins)

How is that even relevant? Sylvia was black listed because of how many games he misses out every season, always injured.

Sylvia also started out a house on fire then mellowed right out. Neither of these apply to Warner...

You're beginning to appear like you have no idea.

TheMailman

Maybe it was a bad analogy sorry  :-\

But I'm still not convinced about Warner

Hopefully he'll prove me wrong and continue his average of 55 odd  :)

TheMailman

Forrest out for 66

A good innings no doubt but I don't think it will be enough to sway the selectors in physically dropping one of the Hussey brothers
