that was an anomaly.

im not changing my stance to suit your agenda
Yes, 329 is an anomly. The three most experienced batsmen in the team all making 100s- an anomly. My mistake. Sorry for actually thinking that success shows you are good, but it is actually an anomaly.

since when have all three performed together at the same time??????
Since when were some of the youngsters you mentioned even slightly capable of making 100 runs against india :P

If you have 3 top class experienced batsmen they are bound to all perform together eventually, this isn't an anomaly

if this wasn't the first time these three had batted that way i would have agreed with you

So here were the standout performers from the first test.

Ben Hilfenhaus - Combined bowling figures of 7 for 114. Also scored 33 runs. Aged 28
James Pattinson - Combined bowling figures of 6 for 108. Also scored 55 runs. Aged 21
Ricky Ponting - 122 runs in both innings. Aged 37.
Michael Hussey - 89 runs in the second innings. Aged 36.
Ed Cowan - 68 runs on debut opening the batting. Aged 29.

And the second test.

Michael Clarke - 329 not out, plus got out Tendulkar in the second innings. Aged 30
Michael Hussey - 150 not out. Aged 36
Ricky Ponting - 134 runs. Aged 37
Ben Hilfenhaus - Combined bowling figures of 8 for 157. Aged 28
Peter Siddle - Combined bowling figures of 5 for 143. Aged 27.

The only young player who has performed well was Pattinson in the first test. All the other performers are quite old.
Cic before the tests you said they should drop Clarke, Ponting and Hussey. They have been the standout performers so far, and yet you still argue they shouldn't be there ::)

before the start of the summer all struggled for runs

Before the summer started all the players you have mentioned that should replace the oldies hadnt played a test. And guess what, they still havent!

Cicjose

its not my fault the selectors put up with 2 years of rubbish

before the oldies all decided to do well in this test match.....

TheMailman

And plenty of other test matches
Just last year I remember Clarke and Ponting 100s respectively

"2 years of rubbish" - sorry Cic, sometimes you're too blind and stupid for your own good.

In 2010 - one of the two years you mention, Hussey - one you want dropped, averaged 50.89 - how is that rubbish? An average of 50 is great...

2 years of rubbish? Yeah right.

Cicjose

how can ponting have scored 100 last year when this test match was the first when he has scored 100 in 2 years?

TheMailman

If I want to compare your argument to AFL Cic

Youd be saying a team of callan wards would be able to beat say..... a team of Jude Boltons
Everybody should know that promise isnt everything and experience counts for a lot
As shown in this test series

Also my kudos to Hilfy and Siddle. I thought they would be awful during the series

TheMailman

Also Cic nearly two years not two years
I overshot the pakistani tour
16 and my brain is already failing  :P
