This has moved from argument into personal attacks.

Sometimes people disagree. This can promote healthy debate. When you attack the person, not the argument, you cheapen your own point of view which has happened on both sides.

I will lock this thread for a while to allow everyone to cool off.

Stay premium and off topic.

Edit: Now unlocked. Keep it civil!

Hughes is out of the big bash he said he wants to focus on First class game versus india in canberra to have a better chance of making the test team

But he hasnt been included in the batting boot camp so surely he has been dropped already

yeah i would say he is trying to keep his test carreer alive.  he is going to be playing county cricket during our winter, so if he can sort his technique out, maybe he can get back in the team for the ashes.  cricket australia seem to like him and are gunna give him every chance to regain his spot

Not sure why Hughes pulled out of the Big Bash. Last time I looked both Chris Martin and Martin Guptill weren't playing in it.  ;D

That's silly.

He's focusing on the first class game vs. India hoping he can smash out 1/2 centuries. If he knocks out a century and a decent 2nd innings (if they play both innings)

Then they'd be stupid not to select Hughes for Boxing Day.

u cant have Watto Warner and Hughes in the same team unless Watson moves down the order but he isnt bowling anyway in the first test i dont think

everyone's favourite player is likely to be selected
what would they do then, drop Watson down the order? Surely they couldn't drop Warner after the last test :-X

I would think drop Khawaja. I hate that idea but I think it would help.

Watson needs to go down the order or he will burn out quick
Cic did u even read the article...it says he is very unlikely stop reading the title and not the article

it certainly would be a step backwards to play katich again(though i dont think he should have been discarded in the first place)
if they drop khawaja for the next test/series, it would be one of the worst decisions CA have made since making kim hughes captain.  khawaja is the real deal, he looks well organised at the crease.
and agreeing with the previous comment watson does need to move to the middle order IF they want to use him for bowling, but then again watto has been injury prone his whole career  so maybe it wont make any difference.
i really believe that the selectors need to make the tough call and drop EITHER hussey or ponting for the WI tour, that way watson can move to 6th and top 3 can be marsh/warner/khawaja combo, 4th to 6th would be clarke, punter/huss, watto as the core top 6.
that way with a few young batsmen to round out the squad and a pretty new bowling attack it will give a good mix of experience and youth.

id like to see some expirnce in the opening postion but without watson its not possible unless u bring in a jacques or a rogers but that wont happen...i would prefer a Warner/Cowan/Marsh/Khawja top 4 with clarke at 5 and watto at 6 when hussey and ponting go

upthemaidens

yeah hawka, i do see marsh as fairly experienced sure maybe not at int. test level,  but hes what 27? he has been in the system for awhile now.  i kind of would hope they dont drop huss and punter at the exact same time and stagger the changes so by the time the second one goes, guys like khawaja warner and marsh will have a dozen tests under their belts
