assuming he gets picked
Well now there's absolutely no doubt that Wade is next in line for the next 6 months anyway (barring anything dramatic)

Cicjose

Luke Ronchi is next in line to get picked based on his age

Hawka

Ur kidding right he was like the 2nd/3rd keeper 4 years ago now Manou(retired) and Paine got test debuts over him in 2009 and 2010
Ronchi is like 4 or 5th in line and he is 30?
woudlnt tho go for a younger keeper who as form like Wade Over Ronchi who is now were near Wade in form
Tho i do prefer Paine Wade should get a chance now

Cicjose

that goes against all your needs for experience

The keeping postion dosent need expirence we needa blood a guy who can b there for 10 years
eg.Wade or Paine and after paines injury it needs to be Wade

Cicjose

why dont we need experience for keeping you keep whinging that we need it everywhere else in the squad......

because we already have batters who can be there for the next 10 years and bowlers..we just slowely gota introduce em
And Wade is expirneced enough
and if we were to drop Haddin Hartley from Qld is a better fit then Ronchi if u wanted expirnce

You're both wrong.

We just need more major cricket grounds around Australia so we have more curators.

The more curators we have around Australia the greater the talent we will be developing.

They key is, recruit curators!

so it looks like if watson plays boxing day it will be just as a batsman,  also marsh wont play.
really hope harris can get up for it, i dont think starc is quite ready yet to be fair. good potential though

I love how you just post articles to try and prove your points cic. But I must ask how is that article proving your point? Slater still says that Ponting, Clarke, Hussey and Haddin should all still be in the team, which are all the players you have been saying must go ::)

Bazinga

Haddin is a terrible test match batsman. He has no concept of adjusting his batting style to the situation of the match. His glove work is acceptable, but he was only put into the test team as a 'replacement' for Gilly cos he was recognised as a stroke maker. To be fair, no-one will ever come close to matching Gilly.

We also need to remember that Clarke absolutely loves Haddin, so he won't be going anywhere soon which is a shame. Here ar Haddin's last 9 test innings scores...

5, 15, 80, 16, 55, 5, 0, 35, 30 ... for an average of just 26.78. Hardly good enough for a test standard wicket-keeper.

As for Ponting, Clarke and Hussey - they have been exceptional players for many years and deserve to stay in the side. Honestly we should be looking at our coaching staff and our mental conditioners. The art of test cricket is playing each ball on its merits, something in which Australian batsman seem to be unable to do. Our batsman are continually getting out to poor shots to balls which are consistently outside off stump.

i like slater saying the team is having metal lapses,,  this  coming from a player who if faced more than 6 dot bowls would like clock work go for a big hit in the air over the in-field,  and how many times did slatts get out in the 90's? yes i guess slater is an expert on metal issues  hahaha
it seems to me that whats best for the team structure would be to move watson down the order, but then either ponting or hussey have to go.  the seletors are in a damned if they do,damned if they dont position
