I thought that was his ideal team, judging by having Watson in it who isnt supposed to be fit for the Boxing Day test :P.

I do agree that Katich's talents are being wasted at state level and should be in the team for Hughes. But Katich captain? Don't think that's going to help patch things up between him and Clarke...

Clarke is now a selector he just needs 1 more or 2 more on the panel agianst Katch coming back and he will be denied..Katch needs to be there but i dont think he will be Clarke hates Katch and vice versa

Drop Ponting.... move Haddin up as a specialist bat.... a nice aggressive test bat is always nice...

Then bring in Paine/Wade.

It is a completely different thing though, getting rid of 1 older player who has lost touch is understandable, but you still need experienced heads in the team.

Reports are Watson may be used solely as a batsman for the Test. Harris bowled 30 overs in the nets yesterday so he may be fit for the test. Christian may come into the team but at whose expense would not drop Khawaja at this point so that leaves Ponting or Hussey.
If Paine is fit would also consider replacing Haddin.
