because the Aus vs NZ thread has been closed I had to put this here

found this wicked quote on Cricinfo  ;D

'If P Hughes is shaving tomorrow and gets a nick, M Guptill will appear from the medicine cabinet with a band-aid.'
i quoted that yesterday :P

are you joking?  ???

If it is, terrific stuff  ;)

Slips fielding is pretty stressful aswell Q.
Not like he just "sits there" :P

Probs only slightly harder than keeping.

Are you going to tell me we cant get a great team out of this?

Doyle

Maybe forgetting Michael Clarke who scored a hundred in both South Africa and here vs the Kiwis?

and Khawaja isnt' in form,

made 7 (from 51 balls) and 23

I'm pretty sure Lyon is in form because he has bowled well on a seamer's pitch

Peter Siddle is in form
Overs: 13   Maidens: 3   Runs: 42   Wickets: 3   RR: 3.23
Overs: 25   Maidens: 11 Runs: 66   Wickets: 3   RR: 2.64

And Brad Haddin is in fine keeping form with 3 catches in the first innings and 2 catches and the brilliant stumping of Jesse Ryder and the legside catch of Kane Williamson

Cicjose

Khawaja got out to good bowling not poor shot selection

Doyle

So? 7 off 51 shows he isn't in form and I also think you forgot Ed Cowan who has just replaced Marsh in the squad

I'm offline for not even two days and i've missed like 20 pages worth of stuff. I skimmed thorugh it and got the general idea: Cic is talking trash.

Ponting needs to stay
Hussey needs to stay
Clarke can stay
Warner may stay
Khawaja may stay
Haddin stays
PATTO!!! may stay
Siddle stays
Lyon stays: Great effort by him yesterday :)
Starc not sure about. I think the selectors only chose him ahead of Copleand and CUtting coz he's a lefty, which if that's true then it's the wrong thing to do.

Then there's Phil Hughes....
I think he's beenm given enough of a chance and he hasn't delivered when he's needed to. As some say "A fighting fifty to win a test match is better than a double-ton in a dull draw."

Cicjose

Ponting Hussey and Clarke will get us killed against India

this is the only National Team in the world who pick players on reputation not performance

if they cant score runs v NZ what hope do they have against India..... NONE

only team who pick players on repuation?
i recall Dravid Laxman and even for a small period Tendulkar in a bad from slump
Hussey Ponting And Clarke (not even in a form slump you White Goodman) are as important to our team as those players ae to india

Oh are Cummins and Cutting injured u were telling us yesterday they werent wow!

Cicjose

The reason India can afford to keep Dravid Laxman and Tendulkar is because they are the best team in the world

we are not and we have been going downhill for nearly 3 years

so your delusions of grandeur should be thrown out just like our middle order
