michael beer is too young to play harris is guaranteed if fit
Ok, it's a bit old..

but weren't you the one wanting to bring in young players?

Pattinson is 21, Beer i'm sure is older, how could you say his too young?

Beer is 27. I think that was Cic's idea of a joke CM ;)

Yea Wade deserves to play the adelaide test at least for experience.

its not normal practice for CA to chop and change keepers for a game here and there, so i doubt they would do that.
but if paine isnt right for the windies tour, then(and if wade is next in line) they should add him too the squad for the tour, which would be great experience

because that is what the selectors would say

pattinson out for the rest of the series...
i guess harris in for patto then and maybe starc in for lyon

One would think that getting Gastro 5 days before a test shouldn't stop a player whose is struggling to hold his spot from playing.

I think Lyon will play but the big question I have is whether harris is really up for 5 days of cricket? Imagine if he went down and there were only two pacemen for the game (especially in Adelaide!).

I was merely suggesting an once-off replacement for Marsh, not a full replacement.

Lyon will definitely play and I think the selectors wouldn't play Harris unless they knew he'd last the entire 5 days. The other option is other course Starc.

next test is in perth,,, adelaide is the 4th test

marsh is a certain starter, and starc has been added to the 12-man squad.
i would think lyon will be dropped

Harris is only ever a stop-gap bowler. Despite how well he has bowled, his age rules him out as a serious long-term project, and will only be used as needed.

The selectors can't guarantee anything though. He hasn't played a Shield match for six months and the last test match was from memory 3 series ago when he broke down. I really like the guy but he has a track record of injuries. All I'm saying is that without Watson to help support the pace attack, there is an expsore. I mention Adelaide because that is usually a flat track where bowlers may have to bowl all day, unlike Perth. Hopefully he plays Perth and gets through for Adelaide but its a risk.

Master Q

Harris isn't ready IMO. Give Starc a go I reckon...
