Cricket especially One Dayers is about getting in and not losing wickets... You can score like Forrest did for 35 overs if you have wickets in hand at the death.

Was a great effort by Forrest IMO.

I agree with nails on this one. He anchored the innings fantastically and if you couldn't see that, then you weren't looking towards the end result but instead that moment alone.

Matthew Wade needs to go to the Windies for some test matches. Surely he has shown he deserves the chance.

I still don't know if they'll simply drop Haddin.

I agree in that I think they should drop Haddin, but I feel the selectors might keep Wade till next Christmas for Tests. (or if there is a series after the Windies)

Haddin's scores of 0 and 0 in the recent Shield match won't help his cause.  :-\

QuoteCricket Australia’s National Selection Panel today announced a 13-man squad for the next two Commonwealth Bank Series matches, against Sri Lanka at Blundstone Arena in Hobart on Friday 24 February and against India at the SCG on Sunday 26 February.

Michael Clarke â€" Captain (NSW)

Shane Watson â€" Vice-captain (NSW)

Dan Christian (SA)

Xavier Doherty (TAS)

Peter Forrest (QLD)

Ryan Harris (QLD)

Ben Hilfenhaus (TAS)

David Hussey (VIC)

Michael Hussey (WA)

Brett Lee (NSW)

Clint McKay (VIC)

Matthew Wade (VIC)

David Warner (NSW)

Two interesting things to come out of the article though...

Quote“Ricky Ponting has been dropped from the squad due to his lack of form in the five Commonwealth Bank Series matches to date in this series."

Fair enough call, but it's amazing that they decide to drop Ponting due to poor from, yet couldn't drop Shaun Marsh after 6 poor innings in the recent test series.... ???

Quote“The NSP made the decision that Matthew Wade is now the preferred ODI wicket-keeper for the Australian ODI team. The intention at this stage is to have both Matthew and Brad Haddin in the West Indies together for the duration of the tour.”

Enjoy those few last tests as keeper Haddin.  :P

TheMailman

Ahh I was right about Haddin!

Windies will be his last chance to show that he can do well in Tests, otherwise its NSW for him  :-X

Also YAY

Watson's back  :)

Imagine what Wade/Watson could do if Watson comes back with some form  :o

Cicjose

Warner is a specialist opener Wade will drop to 6th behind Ponting, Clarke (if fit) and Forrest i would think if Watson gets back in

TheMailman

Watson Wade would be better IM O with Warner at 3

In fact any combination would be good

Plus nobody can go after Ponting if he isn't playing  :P

Cicjose

no your right

we can say that his career is over
