I think im pretty happy with how we drafted, its hard to know with most recruiting people suggesting a weak draft and it being a bit of a lottery after about 20, but picked up some good sized kids, and to get an All-Australian in there too is a good get. Like most though im surprised we didnt get a tall defender or a ruckman, we are seriously low on ruckmen, we will probably need to take 2 in the rookie draft, James Craig will be one, i would expect a mature aged SANFL or VFL ruckman too. Lee Spurr looking likely also. A lot of mock drafts had us looking at Sam Frost, so with him still available, hopefully he slips to us in the rookie draft...

Matt Rendell almost couldn't believe his luck when Sam Kerridge was still available at pick 27 (another pick 27 by Adealide was Andy Otten in the 2007 draft - good/bad omen?? - good I think). The kid moved from Mildura (Daz/BP - know much about him?) to Bendigo two years ago to complete school and get a stronger taste of footy. He is a tough inside mid fielder that knows how to get the cod with size on his side.
All Sando had asked the recruiting team was pick a player that could have played in that Collingwood v Hawthorn final, straight up - a tough inside, quick decision maker, and they got him.
Falling into that same criterion was Mitch Grigg and very happy to get him to from Norwood.

James Craig will be given a full summer to prove his hamstring tear on top of the hamstring scarring that he had last year is totally sound, than and only then will he be re-drafted - if not, DG you're right, we might come up a bit short...

James Craig will definately get picked up. Maybe a mature age like spurr or someone from sanfl like callinan. Did anyone notice they picked SA players. Except for kerridge who they would be foolish to pass up they picked up grigg, joyce and cameron elliss yolman. Out of those three i reckon grigg was the only one worth getting. There was better talent around in the 40s than joyce and although he is a top bloke you have to look and say...could we have picked him up in rookie draft instead. same with Yolman. He has good talent but consistency will let him down.

Its WAY too early to judge draftees

I disagree. I mean sure maybe say 70+ picks but there is a lot of info available to the general public on the early picks.

TheMailman

I was more referring to people calling on draftees whole futures

We do have some info on what they'll be like in their first year

Fyfe_gun

Have my inside info
Crows better trade hard for draft pick next year with all the SA talent on offer next year

Jimmy Toumpas
Nathan Stark
Ben Kennedy
Karl Muller
James Batty
Gavin Sheppard
Alex Spina
all possibly top 20 picks

Cicjose

i've reckon Kennedy could be the number 1

handy player, but unlikely to be 1. i think the crows are hoping that he slips to whatever pick they end up with this year, whick will probably be high although i hope not too high!
