i have put up with their crap performances for the last 18 months

i'm sick of you people saying give them one more chance, we need them for experience what a load of rubbish

if australia has learnt anything in this period the older players should have been forced out years ago

We have had now gone through a period where we have had 3 scores under100 in an innings (the most in a season for more than 100 years)

you are so quick to jump down hughes throat and i dont judge you for that

so why judge me for caring about the poor state of the selection policy of this country

Well, before you make that comment can you back it up with what the opposition scored before or after those scores of under 100?

e.g. Australia 47, RSA made 96 before that.

Master Q

1. Most games have been on Bowling pitches. To the extreme.
2. This isn't FTP.

Aussies fell 14 short of New Zealands total, ending on 136.

Siddle and PATTO!! got the two openers out early again, and now Ryder and Taylor are trying to settle the ship.

so what do people think is a par run chase?  seems the wicket is becoming alittle easier to bat on,  200 could be a fun day 3

Master Q

I reckon the Aussies could make 200.

Hughes just missed a hard catch off Hussey. Really wanted him to pick up a wicket... I was actually at the game where he took his first ever test match wicket  :)

Cic basically what youre doing with the team is turning it into a cricket GWS rather than a cricket GC

Youre putting all your faith hoping potential with somehow miraculisously come to fruition. It aint going to happen.

All of Australias experience players play vital roles that cant be fixed immediately. To further potential you need great experience to help them. Ill use Michael Clarke,
Allen Christiensen and Daniel Menzel as some examples.

To get rid of that experience is done at your own peril.

I should really stop checking FF :P

Cicjose

if the best youngsters are not getting a run based on their performances at domestic level

then the whole of the domestic level of the game should be shut down because it doesn't have a place in Australian cricket

PowerBug

Good day of cricket for the sake of the game and the series. If NZ can make Australia chase down 250+ then it will be a very interesting chase.

the last paragraph sums the australian team up beautifully

Ponting has played worse than Hughes in the last 12 months

Ponting's five yesterday means he is now without a Test century from his past 30 innings. Even more startling is that the former captain is tracking worse than besieged opener Phillip Hughes.

Since the third Ashes Test in Perth last summer, when Hughes replaced an injured Simon Katich, Ponting has made 320 runs at 23 in eight matches and passed 50 only twice. Hughes has marginally better numbers of 437 runs at 24.27 from 10 Tests, but boasts a hundred and a half-century.
