Guys I know you will all crack it but if Warner keeps playing... He could be the next big thing. Give the man a chance.

+1, I don't see what the problem with him hitting out is if he can make good test scores doing it.

IF he can make good test scores doing it.   (that could apply to anyone really).
if he gets out slashing at a wide ball and caught at gully for under 30,  3 or 4 innings stra8 then what?
i just dont see how he can keep his spot IF marsh and watson come back in,, ponting, haddin and hussey will not be dropped until after the indian series and khwaja shouldnt be

ponting haddin and hussey should have gone 12 months ago

Ok I agree with you.
Need to phase one player at a time though, cant throw them all in at once/

TheMailman

No no no no no

Why would you get rid of all that experience and skill so quickly?

Ponting Hussey and Haddin are needed right up until they retire for various reasons such as leadership etc.

Saying that the selectors need to drop them isn't just silly but it's not going to happen.

All three have shown they have skill left with the bat/ball/keeping gloves

Cicjose

peter siddle has done okay leading the attack for australia and he is only 27 with 25 tests.....

Nails

Drop Ponting, bring in Wade, play Haddin as a specialist bat for a season or two.

Hussey over the last 1-2 seasons (except last couple tests) has been our overall best bat, he and Watson would be duking it out for no.1 over last 2 seasons IMO

Hussey doesn't deserve to be dropped just yet.

ANOTHER opportunity, another star. The limousine for Australia's imposing set of debutants will soon need to be expanded to a mini-bus after James Pattinson, 21, demolished New Zealand at the Gabba.

He becomes the third first-gamer to take five or more wickets in an innings in Australia's past six Tests, never mind the debut century by Shaun Marsh. That collective and immediate success has not happened since the earliest days of Australian cricket more than a century ago.

The old blokes may not be happy about it, but what have they done lately?

Lost a couple of Ashes series and been knocked out in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, failing to make the final for the first time in almost 20 years.

It is 14 Tests since Australia has won two in a row, the worst performance since Allan Border's battlers struggled through the mid-1980s.

oh and lets remember one thing, we beat new zealand the 8th ranked team , basically crap. most of their batsmen have averages in the thirties, they gave up their wickets to some degree..
pattinson did well, but i doubt tendulkar, dravid and co will be handing their wickets to him quite so easily,, also if siddle cant move the ball off dead stra8  he will be cannon fodder

personally i dont think we will win that series, im just hoping that its close and a entertaining summer
