Like 2 months ago on footytips.com the tips of the cricket came out. This is what i predicted:

Winner: Australia (Likely)
Australia first innings: Equal to or more than 300 (tick)
NewZealand first innings: Less than 300 (tick)
Best individual batting score: Australia (Likely)
Best individual bowling figures: New Zealand (50/50)
Highest individual batting score: 138 (Probably more)

Clarke has hit 115. He's in top form.

PB, re all the things you were saying earlier. Have you ever actually watched Warner play the 4 day game? It's very similar to McCullum and Sehwag. Perhaps not quite as good but still a very dangerous type and CERTAINLY worth giving him a shot.

To come in 10 minutes before lunch (at the start of an innings) and get out is not unheard of. It's a tricky time to be batting and even tougher if you're new to the crease and tougher once again if it's your first test.

Not to mention his dismissal was unlucky.

Stop knocking the kid. He can play. Well.

No he can't. IMO.
Who would you suggest should be in his place?

Well I haven't looked greatly into this - I know a few are injured, but Marsh, Paine (Specialist Batsmen), Callum Ferguson or even give White a shot.

EDIT: Katich  :-X

Bout time they gave the chance to people that have worked hard over their careers, performed extremely well, yet have been overlooked. Stuff this youth policy.

I reckon Michael Klinger should be given a chance.

roo boys!

Why? Warner's a better batsman than him...

That's what I tried to say - Forgot about Klinger. He's a legend. Easily in the top 5 batsmen at domestic level...

roo boys!

Clarke out! :'( Caught at fine leg.

Easily, so why he is overlooked if we are trying to put Australia's best XI on the field? Can't be his form....

...age? Okay, he's 30. But how old was Hussey when he debuted? Thats right.

...oh, wait, he's NOT from NSW. That's probably it. lol  ::) :P

So a 31 y.o that's probably not as good deserves a spot because he 'worked hard'

Jesus, this isn't Milo Cricket C4 :-X

I finally got to see the Warner wicket, and he wasn't unlucky, he got out like a n00b. When you're young you're told if you are going to leave a short ball that near your body, you drop your hands. Warner left his hands around his chest, thus why he got the glove.

Maybe Tom Cooper should get a spot?? But the obvious decision is Simon Katich.

Anyone else see Reece Young's injury (blood nose)?? Looked nasty, the ball really bounced on him. McCullum behind the stumps now.

Clarkey got 139. So so close. If Martin can get another 2 wickets, really hoping. :-X

Then i might actually get all this correct. :O
