I'm still angry over Warner being selected. This isn't T20, this is a Test match for goodness sake.

Here here.

There's no way he should be in the side.
Yes you can argue that the quality of domestic cricket is lower than that of international cricket, but he's still done well in the 4 day form of the game.
So he can adjust his game to play longer forms of the game.

Not saying that I like him in the team, but just because somebody made their name in T20 first doesn't mean they can't adjust their came and play straight to succeed at test level.

the knob chopped on but was sent back in cause of a no ball :'(
I know Freo supporters are flowered in the head but are you really serious?

i know you were dropped on your head but thats another story
replying to him and then coming back with a comeback later makes you look like a knob ::)

you are both stupider than i thought

Master Q

Sure, but how he got picked ahead of players who have waited for a spot in the team is disgusting.

Not if he's playing better than them it's not. People should make the team because they've waited? By that logic half our team doesn't 'deserve' their spot. Come on Q.
I was out at the time but his dismissal wasn't exactly because he was trying to hack the ball...Gloved it didn't he?

He lasted 5 balls.
And? Jeez. The best batsman in the world can be dismissed without scoring.
It's not like he got out because he smacked it to a fielder.

Perhaps wait until his 2nd innings (if he gets the chance) to make your decision instead of saying he's a hack because he happened to glove a delivery early in his innings.

I agree, we won't know whether or not he can succeed at test level if he doesn't get a decent chance, which he deserves at the moment since he has been playing well at first class level

How can you say he's done well when he's played only 7 first class matches EVER? Thats hardly anything to go by.

you can't deny his form in that time making 3 hundreds and 3 fifties (out of 11 matches he has actually played)

I say Warner shouldn't be playing Test match cricket. It's not for him, he doesn't play that way, and if Australia think they are going to get a Brendan McCullum or Virendar Sehwag out of him they are wrong.

Also, it doesn't matter whether it his first test or his 101st, he is playing for his country and there is no excuse as to why he shouldn't be playing well. I find all this "It's his first test, he's nervous" talk as rubbish, coz he has been chosen in their Best XI so unless the whole team fails (e.g. South Africa first test) there is no excuse.

So there is no excuse for any player playing for their country to not make a score in any given innings?

Pretty much, unles you know the totally random happens or the ump makes a howler and you have no reviews left. Works the same for bowlers too.
Bear in mind thugh i did say that if the whole team has a downer then you can sort of be forgiven, as the other 10 players did just as bad.

I don't think Warner had an excuse today, he got out to the short ball right??

and? anybody can make a mistake early in their innings and lose their wicket for it, doesn't mean they should instantly lose their spot in the side :-X

bomberboy0618

I believe they should install a 3 test policy. Play three straight tests, than either get dropped or keep playing. Will cut all this crap of it's his first test because if you don't make a 50 in six innings you shouldn't be playing.
