2 more wickets!!!

Siddle gets Brownlie out for 42.

Tim Southee in now.

Torpedo10

Another duck for Martin. Aussies need 18 runs to win.

Patto used to work where I work now. Good mates with my dad.

And it is OVER!

Great win for the Aussies!! Far too good for the Kiwis. ;D

Lyon 7/88, Pattinson 6/91 (including 5 wickets in the 2nd inns) best with the ball and Clarke (139), Haddin (80), Ponting (78) best with the bat for Australia.

Massive confidence going into Hobart.

Looks like a great summer ahead for the Aussies.

Torpedo10

Good win for the Aussies

TheMailman

1. Phil Hughes
2. Usman Khawaja
3. Shaun Marsh
4. Michael Clarke
5. Michael Hussey
6. Shane Watson
7. Brad Haddin
8. Mitchell Johnson
9. Pat Cummins
10. Mitchell Starc
11. Nathan Lyon

Now I've already posted this team before (in the new coaches thread)
But I feel the want to do it here as well
This is the team that I feel if the Australian selectors persist with It'll become a top 2-3 world ranking team (for tests)
Fantastic measure of experience and youth.
Obviously atm Johnson and Marsh would be out and replaced by Pattinson and Ponting
Don't rate Siddle so he's out and don't really rate Warner yet but their both good backups

Otherwise Australia did ok and NZ just did awful

Master Q

Great win for the Aussies.

This is the team I'd like to see:

1. Watson
2. Hughes
3. Khawaja
4. Clarke
5. Ponting
6. Marsh
7. Haddin
8. Starc
9. Cummins
10. Pattison
11. Lyon

Only problem I see is the inexperience in bowling - Maybe Starc becomes 12th man and Siddle/Harris/Johnson (who ever is in the best form) comes in.

Doyle

what's happened to Hilfenhaus?

TheMailman

Too old and didn't have enough effect during the ashes
Plus the way he swings the ball is much easier to read then say  the way Johnson or Brett Lee do/did

HAHAHAHA!
Too bad there wasn't a phone number as it looks interesting.

Congratulations to Australia for beating the world number 9 test side.

My test side that we need is:
1. Warner
2. Khawaja
3. Marsh
4. Clarke
5. Watson
7. Paine
8. Starc
9. Pattinson
10. Lyon
11. Copeland
I think if Warner goes for Christian we will see an improvement of the bowling of Australia, and in particular Watson, as they can share the bowling load. 15 overs each equals 30 overs that we would had to have gotten from 1 player.

You're missing a number 6 there...

How about trying to make a side with the players available??

Watson, Harris, Cummins, Johnson etc... not available

upthemaidens

i would say it will be an unchanged team for the 2nd test,, but more importantly the indian tests im thinking something like,
IF hughes and warner both fail the next test AND watson and marsh are fit
  1. watson
  2. khawaja
  3. marsh
  4. ponting
  5. clarke
  6. hussey
  7, haddin
  8. cummins
  9. siddle
10.pattinson
11. lyon

personally i dont think siddle should be in the side, but selectors will want atleast one bowler with more than 5 tests under their belt.
haddin will stay until atleast the end of summer
i really dont think warner or hughes are test openers tbh, but warner has the most upside
khawaja really looks the goods
hopefully ponting has a good series and decides to retire on top on home soil
and hussey im just not sure on, the guy is like 50 years old. will he be there when the next ashes comes around? if not then he has to move on sooner rather than later
