Australia's cricket selectors are likely to start all four quicks - Ben Cutting, James Pattinson, Ben Hilfenhaus and Mitchell Starc - chosen in the Australia A squad for the four-day game against the Black Caps.

Australia's Test team will be chosen tomorrow, and it is likely at least one of the quartet will be selected for the Test next week.

Queenslander Cutting (23 wickets at 14.65) has been the dominant quick in Sheffield Shield matches this summer though Hilfenhaus (17 wickets at 26.35) has recaptured some lost zest.

Starc (15 wickets at 31) is being watched closely and Pattinson (nine wickets at 24), who has played just two games to the others' four, was taken on the recent Sri Lankan tour so he is in strong contention.

Hoping all of Australia A get a chance during the tests against NZ

the Aussie A team is better than the current NT IMO

George Bailey (capt), David Warner (vice-capt), Michael Beer, Tom Cooper, Ed Cowan, Ben Cutting, Ben Hilfenhaus, Nic Maddinson, James Pattinson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade (12th man to be named).

I've always assumed that McCullum and maybe Vettori are NZ's only decent players.

McCullum and Vettori are 90% of the side. With Ross Taylor being the other 10%.
Impressive knock, thus showing why he's my favourite keeper.

Shane Watson, Shaun Marsh, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Johnson and Ryan Harris will all miss the encounter because of injury.

If Australia plays like they did against SA in the 2nd Test NZ really doesn't have much of a chance

Although no Watson, Cummins and Johnson will be worring

oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The most identifiable message from national selector John Inverarity's discussion of the first Test team handed to captain Michael Clarke and coach Mickey Arthur was, if you're young and on a good run, it's your time in the sun.

''They're all in good form at the moment. Pattinson was away in Sri Lanka recently and Mitchell Starc and Ben Cutting both did very well at the Gabba,'' Inverarity said.

''We need to develop a very good squad of players, particularly a squad of faster bowlers. There's a very heavy workload and that workload needs to be shared. To have promising 21-, 22-, 23-year-old pace bowlers is very encouraging,'' he said.

Kurtis Patterson is another to look at.

interesting that they wanted an overhaul years ago but will stop short of trying to do it now
