DAVID Matthews has been confirmed as CEO of Greater Western Sydney.

Matthews, who was appointed as acting chief executive late last month after the resignation of Dale Holmes, was the AFL's general manager of national and international development, based in Sydney.

"We couldn't be happier to have somebody of David's calibre join us for what will be an exciting journey ahead for the game in Greater Western Sydney," Giants chairman Tony Shepherd said on Tuesday.

we can all read it on AFL.com.au ...

Cicjose

so do you agree with this move?

Voldemort

I don't agree or disagree seeing as I'm not a GWS supporter or in the inner-circle of the club. They administration in every organisation have a mind of their own.

Cicjose

you dont need to be a GWS supporter to have an opinion on the matter.....

it is very strange IMO that Dale Holmes would resign as the CEO of a franchise that is yet to be fully operational and before their very first season.

Holmes has done a good job up until now but obviously he or the club are looking in a different direction now to when they started

I find it a bit odd as well, but I don't have much of an issue with it, it looks like we got a solid CEO in anycase, and I'm happy enough with that :P

GREATER Western Sydney has appointed experienced administrator Richard Griffiths as its chief operating officer.

Giants chief executive David Matthews said Griffiths' experience and skills would be a welcome addition to the club as it entered its inaugural AFL season.

"Richard Griffiths has done an outstanding job to develop and grow the game as chief executive of AFL Queensland and he is ideally placed to take on this important role," Matthews said.
