I'd pick PB's on the fact that the team wouldn't fall apart straight away but could improve greatly with experience

I feel Cic's team is just too early for the moment  ;) Come 2014-2015 It will be a significantly better side  :)

Cicjose

our best player in the test series was a 19yr old

they don't need domestic games if they are scoring runs, getting wickets and keeping well

the youngsters need to play at the highest level

But by the time the youngsters are owning we will have lost too many times and our ranking will be lower than Kim Duthie's standards.

Mate, i don't kow how you have got that many boos. Pretty much every post cracks me up! ;D

And that is the problem, we will be like below Zimambwe, who are No. 7 in the world. BTW New Zealand are No. 9 from last check :o :o

so wasting another 5 years playing the deadwood that is losing us games is going to improve the side how?

I agree with you. However, your team will be ripped to shreds in every game.

#22
seems no-one has faith in our domestic competition.

short term pain for long term gain.

its a shame our best youngsters wont ever get a look in because our selection policy is to recruit short term stop gap players
who are getting a look in now because they didnt get an opportunity when we were conquering every nation 5 or 6 yrs ago

instead of trying to have a long term plan for a champion side with up and coming young, in form talent

Watson (our best player)
Hughes (our best 4 day domestic opener)
Khawaja (the batsmen with the best technique in the country)
Cooper (leading run scorer of the domestic competition)
Warner(an aggressive in form batsmen)
Henriques (all rounder to take pressure off Watson)
Wade (Best keeper in the country except for an injured Tim Paine)
Cutting (Leading wicket taker in the 4 day competition last year and so far this year)
Lyon (up and coming spinner doing well)
Hilfenhaus (Best bowler when fit)
Starc (very good up and coming bowler)

12th Man
M Marsh (one of the best allrounders in the country)

unlucky to miss out include:
Cummins (would take hilfenhaus spot)
Ferguson (would take Cooper's spot)
Paine (when fit will take Wade's spot)
Copeland (likely to be selected based on pitches)
Forrest (good season so far)
Coulter Nile (good season so far)
Herrick (most wickets by a spinner domestically)

roo boys!

Cicjose

only because hilfenhaus is there for experience purposes

No offense Cic but that team is rubbish. Those are the players who are performing at Domestic level I think you are forgetting 2 things:

A) There are players performing in the side - You have dropped 3/4 of the team
B) There is a fair gap between International and Aussie Domestic.

TheMailman

I'm sorry but the best closest team to it would be an Australia A team

Too much inexperience. Australia's ranking would take big hits and potentially ruin the young talent

That's why you need Hussey, Haddin, Clarke and Ponting. Australia would not have tied the series had they not been selective

Not bagging out your team. It's a good one. I just feel this way

PowerBug

Well, there is one thing i like about Cic team. It has two South Australians. :)

i agree a complete overhaul is probably not the best idea but i think with a new board and new coach

we should be looking to do a similar job to the NT

and our world ranking has already nose dived we can afford to be picking the best talent available with our domestic players because they know our playing conditions better than anyone else in the country
