Forward line could be problematic...

Wouldn't surprise me if they make Daisy a mid again! Stranger things have happened....

Hawkins scored terribly last year, and if his injuries don't improve....

Higgins injury concerns also..

The good thing is I think we've added a lot of depth this trade period. Karnezis, Lamb, Rohan, Reid, Smedts, Kent and potentially Bird and Sexton should provide ample cover if Daisy does indeed lose DPP and Hawkins doesn't improve like we hope. All young guys who should be on the up over the next few seasons. And if Thomas does indeed lose his forward statues for the seasons to come, it should result in a large increase in his scoring; I imagine him getting back to his best (109 average) and better at Carlton.

Higgins will put together 15+ games, and that's what you need in Worlds. As long as he's around in the crucial games to help us make finals and see where we go from there.

Nice looking team you've put together chumps. Defense is a little poor, but overall a strong team :)
Thanks CF. Defense definitely our weakest but as Memph said, it should improve. I may be biased but I can see at least four of Pittard, Reid (either one), O'Shea, Guthrie, Plowman and possibly Haynes becoming 85+ players.

Only 27 of the 275 defense listed players averaged 85+ this year, so 9.8% of them. Expecting at least 4 of the 7 you mentioned to do it may be stretching a bit far... Especially when only 2 of them averaged more than 65 this year.

Hey hey hey, I said it optimistically :P

O'Shea, Reid, Pittard and Plowman could do it though. Guthrie too, he looked damn good in that prelim vs Hawthorn; imagine what he'll be like when he doesn't have to play on Cyril!

With Josh Hunt and Joel Corey gone and Enright on his last legs (playing career wise not scoring) I fully expect Guthrie to have a breakout season this year and push into premium territory the season after.

Again I'd expect it takes a few seasons for these guys to come on. By then we should know who's a stud and who's a dud anyway. Even if just two do, coupled with Ben Reid that's a good def line and we can trade for someone else to fill the hole (though I expect Gwilt could do that at times next season).

A bit late, I know, but here is our draft summary.

With pick 12 in the International Draft we welcomed up-and-coming midfielder Matt Crouch to the Cobras. Crouch is a ball magnet, as shown by his 37 disposal average in the TAC Cup earlier this year, and 25 in the VFL. With a bit of hard work I'm sure we'll see Matt develop into an excellent player for Cape Town.

With pick 21 in the draft we were fortunate enough to snag the promising midfielder Trent Dumont. We value Dumont as much better than the 21st pick so we were stoked when he slipped through to us. We're confident that we'll be able to help him become a gun player.

Absolutely shattering. Could be without a ruck for half the year.

GOOD news for Cape Town (see, not all bad!)

With Ben Reid set to return... forward or back is the question!
