Jarryd Roughead has returned to the team he left at the start of the 2012 season. He claims he 'always knew he would come home'.

The news article at the start of this thread states this ;)

The F.A.R.K.

Even through an injury rattled year, a few Bashers stood up and carried the rest of the team. This was shown last night with many players polling well in the Brownlow medal. Special mention to Joel Selwood who finished second by 1 vote, as well as other mids Nathan Fyfe and Andrew Swallow. Great performances by these young, shining stars of the Bashers line-up

In an incredible turn of events, inaugural Belgian Bashers captain Andrew Swallow and mercurial forward/midfielder Dale Thomas have both terminated their Bashers contracts and moved West to Spain.

Swallow played all 18 Bashers fixtures in their first year in the competition last time around and was set to repeat that feat until a horror achilles injury halted all that. Swallow was still able to represent the club on 13 occasions during 2013 taking his grand total to 31 games at 100+ average. We thank Andrew for all the work he has put in at Belgium over the past two seasons and wish him all the best for his recovery.
Dale Thomas' Bashers career has been far less settled. A string of soft tissue and ongoing ankle injuries shattered his 2012 and 2013 seasons and his odd inability to play as a fwd in 2014 has seen him slide to the periphery at the Bashers. The at times magical midfielder took to the field 18 times for the Bashers and we also wish him the best in his return from ankle issues.

Now onto the news we all want to hear about. Lance Buddy Franklin. Touted as one of the greatest forwards in the modern era, the massive unit will add an enormous amount of stability and conisstency to the forward line, as well as the aility to single-handedly turn a game on its head. Buddy struggled last season with his Stallions contract cloud hanging over his head and when it became known that the Stallions could not offer the contract that was being asked for, Buddy decided to move on. It is rumoured his first preference was always Belgium due to the incredible coaching staff and the opportunity to link up with two-time Basher and best mate Jarryd Roughead.
Along with Buddy (as if that wasn't enough!) came selection 3 in the upcoming rookie draft. The club has a fairly firm idea on who will be taken with their selections 2&3 but only time will tell whether these rumours prove to have substance.

Farewell...

If I'd been able to keep coaching at Spain Buddy never would've left.  :(

Best of luck in the Champs League QF lads.
