quite possibly the best of all time

I have a mate who believes as a species we are getting to a point where we will stop evolving and start going backwards because "the majority of smart business types are to occupied with their careers to start a family whereas the nuff nuffs on the dole are spitting out heaps of little bogans"

CrowsFan

Haha yeah that's actually meant to be true aj, in a couple hundred years the bogans will outnumber the rest of society and rule over the smart people :D

ajjewell

Really scary thought for us as a species, makes me glad I won't be around to see it :)

CrowsFan

Haha yeah that's the futures problem :P

not true. Genetic engineering in unborn children will make its way into society long before that happens- the rich, intelligent and successful will be giving birth to more intelligent and more physically adept children, while the bogans and dregs of society (aka- collinwood fans) won't be able to afford it.

BAM!

they already cant afford it it but the bloody government keeps picking up the tab with our tax dollars >:(

oh man, do not want to go into this, but I guess I will anyway.

Personally, I'm a strong supporter of evolution. I'm also a relatively devout Christian, and I don't see how evolution and God should be, as I said in a previous post, mutually exclusive. My belief in genesis, and the majority of the old testament, is that they are stories there to teach us values and lessons, no necessarily word for word precise accounts of what happened.

this is a version of a joke I once heard that I found highly amusing, and... kind of relevant in this discussion. :P

haha :P

I agree with you totally that evolution and a god are not mutually exclusive events, and there is no reason why you can't think like that. Albert Einstein believed in a god, whom he believed created the universe, with all the laws of physics and whatnot, and let it go from there.
I've heard similar things. God created the Universe and all the mysteries that come with it. What would the universe be if we knew everything about it, have to keep ourselves occupied while we search for the mysteries.
