We had extremely worthy candidates last time in a very tight race.

If you weren't around, bad luck sorry. If you were and chose not to, that's unfortunate but your choice.

Sorry guys, maybe next time.

Very common for 'selection processes' to have an order of merit for future positions

i reckon it was the right call Osman
the season starts in 2 weeks so needed to be filled ASAP to give the new coach time to get ready imo
and another vote takes a week or so and that is if ppl get on and vote
and considering there was a vote recently i reckon it made sense

Hmmm, it seems weird that you give a position to someone based on an application for a different position. Not to mention that the same person was giving a co-coach spot elsewhere and then moves across. :-\ Also, you say unfortunate but your choice, I'm allowed to be patient and wait for the right job am i not? Who's to say that of all the sides to coach in this comp i wanted Moscow, so didn't apply elsewhere and wait for this job to open up and have a big shot at it.

Do we give new coaches who take over a side in the middle of a year 2 weeks before anything counts? It's the same position imo.
There was a vote recently for the Islanders spot, not the same as the Moscow position. Different people may want this job.

I think SydRox should automatically get the next team, Ossie. He was only 2 votes behind me and 1 behind Jukes last vote.
:)

Sorry ossie, but this seems like a very poor decision.

Yeah I agree. If I was looking for a Worlds job then I would probably try and get apply for a better team in my situation then the team Jayman got. And then Jayman gets stuck with a bottom team while Jukes get a top team. Even though Jayman out ranks Jukes, he is worse off lol.

However, maybe because the voting process takes so long and season is close, this probably was the fastest way in handing out a team.

I am not making this point lez, as some people are happy to take over any side, and that has to be respected. Jayman probably likes the challenge, and Jueks doesn't care which team he gets.

But, I believe it is unfair that those who wanted the moscow spot and are not allowed to run for the spot.

I pose a hypothetical to you, if 3 more managers were to suddenly quit today, would the spots be given automatically to the next two ranking managers from the Islanders job, or would you open nominations?

Moscow was probably one of two teams I'd put myself in the running to coach and I have previously shown a LOT of interest in taking on a Head Coach role at this particular club. The Pacific Islanders aren't one of the two, (the other would be PNL :P although Daz should get first shot) So just because I didn't apply for the Islanders, how does that automatically disqualify me from even applying for Moscow??
This seems like a knee-jerk call to me.

i see where you guys are coming from but in saying that
if you want a job to take whats there
beggars cannot be choosers is what i'd say
if you wanna get involved in worlds you need to take what ever is on offer..
why?
well what if no one else ever quits from now on and you know you could of won a job earlier rather then trying to pick and choose who you take

and before you say if it never comes up again you didnt get a chance to run for the last ever one
what i mean is im sure most coaches would be voting in those they see putting in the effort time after time and missing out
rather then those picking and choosing for whatever reasons

On my to do list :)

Sorry guys, I understand your points, but I disagree. Jukes is a worthy candidate, and the coaches agree.

I can not keep track of everyone who might be interested in a position. I take it as a compliment that people are passionate about this game. But I feel people should be interested in the game no matter what the list, as whether you take the best team, the worst, or any in between you have unique challenges.

If you get 12 coaches who disagree with this decision, than as per the rules of the game, the decision will be reversed.

I do take offense to the 'poorly handled' remark, as this is a big undertaking of time.

This was going to be my next point. And that is all because i disagre doesn't mean that it should happen. I and a couple of others have given this decision a big thumbs down but if those involved do not mind then nothing has to change. :) It doesn't feel right to me, but i understand where you are coming from :)

It seems to me that you're all blaming Ossie for your own mistake.
Where were you when the Islanders position was available? Enough said.
Phas you've had plenty of chances to apply in the past but your inactivity was your downfall.
And SS, you've already had the privilege of being a coach before so I don't think you can complain.
