The Cairo Sands Trade Breakdown with Nige

Trade 11
Cairo give: Clancee Pearce, Kyle Hartigan, Lewis Johnston and Sam Kerridge
New Delhi give: Matt White, Rhys Palmer and Pick 60
Summary: Being over the salary cap we're required to get under it. In addition, a struggling new Delhi needed to strengthen their list. To do this, we've parted with Clancee Pearce who follows former assistant coach Ricochet to India. Kyle Hartigan who was promoted off the rookie list last season along with Lewis Johnston who struggled with injury this year and Sam Kerridge who joined the club from Beijing last year. We'd like to welcome to the Matt White and his terrible tattoo and Rhys Palmer who can play both midfield and forward. In addition to these two young men, Pick 60 has been acquired.

Trade 12
Cairo give: Nick Malceski, Seb Tape and Pick 49
PNL give: Chris Dawes, Matt Thomas and Pick 33
Summary: We bid farewell to Nick Malceski, the ever reliable stalwart of our defense for two seasons. Nick was our nominated for the WXVs coaches award and the first ever Cairene to notch up 50 WXVs game (after playing several for Dublin). Also leaving us is Seb Tape, picked up in the International Draft last year and only playing a few reserves games for us. Pick 49 has also been traded. We wish them the best in their future endeavours. Acquired from the stingy PNL Reindeers was forward Chris Dawes who should join Luke Breust, Paul Puopolo and Jeremy McGovern in our forward line next season. Matt Thomas also came with Chris to add some midfield depth. We're also very happy to have received Pick 33.

Trade 21
Toronto Trade: Ben Brown and NAT #50
Cairo Trade: Richard Douglas
Summary: Leaving the club in this trade is 2013 Best and Fairest - Richard Douglas. After an ordinary year, the coaching panel felt that Richard could be moved on as the younger Cairenes stepped up. Coming across from Toronto is Ben Brown, a forward who should be able to pinch hit if needed. Ben is known for his hairstyle and work ethic, both of which are trademarks of the Cairo squad. Pick 50 has also been secured in the trade.

Trade 22
Cairo trade: Andrew Carrazzo, Jamie Cripps and Charlie Cameron
Tokyo trade: Sam Mitchell and Pick 45
Summary: With the departure of Nick Malceski and the likelihood of Pearce Hanley joining the midfield, an experienced defender is needed to hold the Cairo defense together. We found one in Tokyo's Sam Mitchell. To get Sam's services, we had to farewell Andrew Carrazzo who spent one year in Cairo after being the Buenos Aires list as well as two-time Cairene Jamie Cripps and the exciting Charlie Cameron. Tokyo has also handed over Pick 45.

Trade 24
Pacific give: Phil Davis + pick 76
Cairo give: Michael Rischitelli + Matt Thomas
Summary: Still needing to watch the cap but also looking to look after our defensive stocks, we sought out a defender and found Pacific willing to give Phil Davis and Pick 76. In return, we said goodbye to Michael Rischitelli and also Matt Thomas who was made to catch a connecting flight after not even being allowed to unpack his bags.

In: Matt White, Rhys Palmer, Chris Dawes, Matt Thomas*, Ben Brown, Sam Mitchell, Phil Davis, Picks 33, 45, 50, 60 and 76.
Out: Clancee Pearce, Kyle Hartigan, Lewis Johnston, Sam Kerridge, Nick Malceski, Seb Tape, Richard Douglas, Andrew Carrazzo, Jamie Cripps, Charlie Cameron, Michael Rischitelli, Matt Thomas and Pick 49.

Poor Tank, couldn't even make it to Cairo before being shipped off even further across the world :(.

Memphistopheles

Not a bad looking side.

Still a bit of a #NoMummyNoCairo look to it though :P

That's why we got Ben Brown.  ;)

When there's no Mummy, Big Ben Brown will step up and pump out 150s.  8)

Brown is good, but you will need him to play OOP as he is a forward only.

Yeah will be interesting to see. Averaged 3 hit outs a game in the AFL and 9 in the VFL. Is that enough to keep ruck status?

Justin Bieber

If Brown gets it, so should Casboult :P. Doubt either will :-X.

Knowhere near enough I remember forwards getting close to 10 and not getting it. Basically zero ruck time.

Petrie got 3.5 last year just as a point of reference.
