Cheers Os. Also just read that Hill may be out for 3 weeks, so there goes 2 of my top 3 mids! All going wrong at the wrong end of the season!

My Chumps

All just in time to face Cape Town this weekend! :P

I'm pretty torn though; I think I might trade in Sloane for Ablett in Supercoach, so do I want him to do well this weekend?  :(

I hate those dilemmas... I captained Rocky in DT when I came up against Dublin last week :P.

And those are some big hits to end the regular season :o. Ablett and Hill will dent the scoring a bit which I won't complain about ;). Hill should be back for Finals though which is where you'll need him, as you are almost certain to make the 8 anyway.

Yep Hill a big loss for us and will certainly dent the scoring without him and Ablett in the side. Hill averaging over 100 this year, which is what I think I told many people last year during trade period, but no one was interested in him. Stepped up a level just as I expected him to. Such a game breaker, which is always great for SC. Been very disappointed with Masten this year though! >:(

A loan deal is rumoured to be on the brink of completion between the New Delhi Tigers and the Sao Paulo Pumas. Coming off 4 straight tons, Mitch Duncan is set to represent his old club the Puma's in an injury-replacement deal. It is thought that this was a clause in the Duncan contract signed last trade period.

Stay tuned for confirmation ;)

And it's confirmed. Just waiting for final approval from WXV HQ, which shouldn't be a problem since it was clearly stated in his transfer deal.

Captain Gary Out For Season

After dislocating his shoulder during the win over the Islanders on the weekend there was much speculation on what was going to happen to inspirational captain Gary Ablett. Initial thoughts had him missing 4 games if he chose to go the conservative treatment option, but in the end after consultations with specialists Gary has opted to go under the knife with the hope of preventing further dislocations. Unfortunately for the Pumas this means Ablett will miss the remainder of the season, but obviously his health is more important to us than risking him in a few games this season. Gary should hopefully be able to have a good preseason and be right to go for round 1 next year.

But what does this mean to the Pumas who will now miss their captain for a minimum 4 matches and maximum 7? Many pundits are saying it's season over for the Pumas who will limp in to the finals and crumble without a whimper, others are saying that the depth at the Pumas should be able to patch up the loss of Ablett, with vice captain Rory Sloane ready to step up and lead the side deep into the finals series. We will just have to play the waiting game to see how this pans out, as right now we can only guess.

This isn't the first time that Gary has missed games for the Pumas, having missed 2 games in 2012 and 1 in 2013. Obviously 3 games isn't a large pool to look at for significance, but in those 3 games the Pumas have a record of 2-1 with scores of 158, 155 and 143 for an average of 152. In the 51 matches that the Pumas have played with Ablett they also amazingly average 152 (technically 151.9), so no difference with Gary in or out of the side. Clearly 3 games is not a big enough sample size, but it looks as if the others will rally and give it their all when Gary isn't in the side. Hopefully that trend continues for the remainder of the season...

Another blow for the Pumas depth with 2012 Rising Star Winner Mitch Wallis out for the year:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-07-21/young-dog-out-for-the-year

After a breakout year of 2012, where he played 12 matches at an average of 93.92 and took home the Rising Star, Mitch Wallis managed only 7 games at 76.86 in 2013 and didn't make it into the seniors at all this year (chance for a late inclusion this round though!).

And we take another hit! Mitch was getting closer and closer to forcing his way back in to the starting XV too. Hopefully a big pre season will see him come out firing next year :)
