Bad news for Dublin with the news that young forward Daniel Markworth is booked in for a knee reconstruction and will miss the majority of next season...

dam, however i dont need him next year. I just hope this doesnt stop him breaking into the team further down the track.

CrowsFan

Yeah that's true, but will slow down his improvement :(

Should have traded him to me when you had the chance, he could have joined Whitecross in my medical room ;)

Holz

rumours are circling that Dublin may be in the process of securing a star of the competition. Dublin has a wealth of forwards and backs and are elledgy offering for trade two of their best backs/forwards in the search of a captain to lead the club.

Coach Holz has felt that young Jack Redden is not ready yet to take over leadership of the club.

:( Bad news for the Stallions and Magic too.

The Destroyers were one of the most active team in the comp in the first trade period after the horrid 2012 season. Team management always felt that the list had alot of quality and it was used to bring in what the destroyers are claiming to be a top 8 side for 2013.

There was just one piece missing and that has finally been secured. It has just come to light thatthere was tension between  Dale "Daisy" Thomas and Coach Holz throught the 2012 season and he has been on the trading block for some time and has been traded. Troy Chaplin despite one of the few good news stories of the 2012 season has also been relased in order to secure the new Coach of the Destroyers.

After weeks of speculation it can be revealed that Joel Selwood will be taking the mantle of Captain with young gun Jack Redden offically the vice captain of the club. Selwood one of the stars of the Cobras last year has welcomend the move to the destroyers with the hope that he will be a premeirship captain in the coming years.

He joins Redden Mundy Boak Omeara in what could become one of the strongest midfields in the comp.

In other news promising midfielder Lachie Hunter has joined Dublin as part of the Selwood trade.

with Dublin on track to rack up alot of wins this year we have been in need of a club song and we have gone with the Rocky Road to Dublin.

the team have had some trouble following along with the words, but as we will be hearing it alot this year they will get used to it.

1- shocking trade got absolutely destroyed
5- 50/50 trade
10 - gave up nothing and got stars.

Trade 1
Dublin Gives: Shane Mumford, Callan Ward, Nick Malceski
Cairo Gives: Todd Goldstein, Jack Redden, Adam Tomlinson

mumford to goldy was the big move and one of the main reasons i have moved up the ladder. IM very happy with thisa trade as i feel goldy is top 3 rucks in terms of value easy. Redden isnt doing as good as expected but is still beating ward so good move there. Eski out really really hurts in the short term but i think the win on the other 2 trtades makes up for it.

7/10

Trade 2
Beijing Gives: Pick 30 and Mitch Clark
Dublin Gives: Pick 19 and Josh Caddy

Caddy has done nothing but Clark has been injured. Too early to see but I didnt lose much and Clark could come good.

6.5/10

Trade 3
Dublin gives: Picks 20, 30, 38
Dublin receives: Michael Hurley

only pick 20 is the real loss here and I would have picked tom lee, so i call this a short term win and a potential long term big win if Hurley can live up to his potential.

6/10

Trade 4
Toronto gives: Pick 68, Nathan van Berlo and Josh Bootma
Dublin gives: Nathan Grima

Grima has really struggled this year and NVB and Bootsma have been worse but NVB has provided depth and bootsma has potential. Not a big loss here but no gain as of yet.

5/10

Trade 5
Dublin gives: Picks 1, 56 and 74, Scott D. Thompson and Adam Schneider
Dublin receives: Travis Boak, Brandon Ellis and Alex Rance

I did win this trade, however if i moved someone instead of thompson I could have done much much better. IM very happy with boak as a 105 average player exactly what I need. Rance has been solid but he has gone done hill, his 80+ average is more than servicable. Ellis is the pick of the bunch and a huge win on schnieder, I did go to on trade ellis for jese hogan so its still unknown how this trade turns out.

7.5/10

Trade 6
Berlin gives: Josh Green
Dublin gives: Pick 68, Rookie Pick 37, Lachie Neale

Green disappointing but neala has only played 2 games. Nothing trade

5/10

Trade 7
Pacific gives: Pick 5 and Sam Docherty
Dublin gives: Billy Longer and Adam Tomlinson

longer could come good but isnt ready yet. Docherty can play but voss wont let him. With goldy and Zach Clarke peforming I wouldnt have needed longer anyway so not much lost. Pick 5 was used to get gray, who at least makes my team.

7/10

Trade 8
Dublin gives: Michael Barlow
Dublin receives: Jack Watts + Jese Stringer

horrible horrible trade. Barlow has been on of the best in the comp and watts is going 20+ below what I would have expected from him. Stringer has played one game, is young so could be an option down the track but this move is looking really really bad.  Should have traded away the older mundy.

1/10

Trade 9
Moscow gives: Pick 10
Dublin gives: Brandon Ellis

All depends on jesse hogan. I have needed backs this year and ellis had average 119 in his last 5 games. Would have put me a likely finalist if he can keep this form up. If he loses DPP could end up alight long term and hogan did look very good in the preseason. ICould he repeat what omeara did?

3/10

Trade 10
Toronto gives: Robbie Gray and Kieran Harper
Dublin gives: Pick 5 and Tommy Walsh

Harper has been dropped from the side so that smokey failed. Gray has been alright when playing a full game but 2 vests have really hurt his average. I will consider this a loss as I didnt expect martin to slip to 5 and he is a gun, who could potentially replicate what omeara did.

3/10

Trade 11
Dublin give: Israel Folau
Moscow give: Pick 30

Probably the best trade in worlds history. Folau goes on to retire less than 24 hours after this and essentially turn a very late rookie pick into a top 30 nat pick. Anderson who I got showed alot of promise early and at only 19 years old could turn out to be a solid player.

10/10

Trade 12
Moscow Trades: Pick 24
Dublin Trades: Preseason Draft Pick 1

plowman while scoring very poorly has been required to play quite a few games for dublin. As a top 3 pick the potential is always there and im happy to have him in the squad.

Bad news for the Destroyers is gun midfielder Travis Boak is out for 2 weeks but in good news we will have a debutant this week in Lachie Hunter

McCartney: We're going to have a first gamer against the Tigers, young Lachlan Hunter will get his chance at AFL level.

McCartney: Lachlan will be the fourth of our 2012 draft crop to play. He'll eventually play midfield, but he's suited forward for now.

Tim Watson:

"Jaeger O'Meara could quite well go down in history as the greatest midfielder that's ever played the game," Tim Watson said on Melbourne radio station SEN on Monday morning.

"He is unbelievable. You've got to keep reminding yourself that here is a kid in his first season of AFL football at 18 years of age. He has it all.

"I'll stand corrected if that doesnt happen"

Goldy is now a top 10 player in terms of value

watts starting to show abit and barlow slowed down, still a bad trade

pick 10 in the end go me Walters a 90 avergae forward. I like that move.

gray was fantastic in the second half of the year, the only thing stopping this from being a great trade is the threat of him being a mid only

Huge news as Mini Draft pick Jesse Hogan, young gun Sam Docherty and the 2013 Rising Star winner Jaeger Omeara have been shipped off as Dublin aim to go from the 2012 flag to the 2014 premiership winners.

Super Star of the Comp Nat Fyfe has joined the ranks and been given shared vice captain duties with Todd Goldstein, along with two young forward to bolster dublins forward line in Michael Walters and Jack Darling

Haha good find that pic! Surely you didn't plan your trade targets around that picture :P

I wanted a picture of fyfe and mundy together and stumbled on to that gem. If only Zach Clarke was in it too.

Dublin have continued their active pursuit of chasing the flag next year with anoter star being added to the stable. Break out players Aaron Black and Shuan Atley have left the club after resonable years at the club. Aaron Black broke out this year to become a lock in the clubs best 15 after breaking into the team earlier in the year. The club has alos lost their first round pick but Coach Holz feels it is all worth it, adding star defender Grant Birchall to the club, joining new signing Lyndeen Dunn, star backman Alex Rance and Lachy Hansen who has recentely made a move from the forward line to defense.

Tom Lee has alos been moved in the deal and will hopefully provide some cover up front after showing promise in the second half of the year.

These write-ups are nice, but all that effort would go to waste if your trades are neg'd.  :-X
