He could be one of the most blacklisted players of all......but could he be good for your team????

If he puts in a solid pre-season and plays well in the NAB cup, do you think he might be worth a punt?

Cons:  his age, injury concerns, lacks effort when things dont go his way

Pros:  has that x-factor, price, MPP, is a better player than he demonstrated last season

This should get some good responses lol......go for it.....

IMO he will never be the same player again he is ageing and no longer guaranteed a spot in the best 22 and prone to b the sub...massive risk may have a bit of reward but I reckOn unlikely

PowerBug

No no and no again. Blacklisted for a reason, i won't be having him in my starting side for 2012. But if he comes back, might be an upgrade option.

I won't be taking the risk on him though.

Turkies

It will all depend on the preseason. You guys are overreacting just because you got burned. He was injured the whole year, not much he can do. If he is in form, he won't be seeing the sub vest like he did this year. He got the sub vest when he was coming back from injury and when he was out of form (due to injuries).

I still think without injury and a good preseason, he will be on fire. It's harsh to judge a guy based on an injury riddled year.

That said, he is pretty expensive, i think ~360k, so he'd really have to have a killer pre-season to picked.

But the biggest worry for me is that he hasn't played a full season since '06.... For that reason, I'll pass unless he shows great signs next year.

people said this about leon davis last year. I think that Dids could have last gasp season.

Past his use-by date i feel. Could still suprise me but i doubt it.

If he really turns it on I might consider him as an upgrade option, otherwise no thanks.

He's in my team at the moment, not surprised that so many are off afte picking him this year but if you paid attention you would have realised how underdone he was.
As with all guns coming off injury if he gets a full pre season in and looks good in the nab he is a great choice and if it dosnt come off easy downgrade to a rookie you may have missed.

.....yeah he's on my radar, and l reckon your thinking is spot on

Didak could become the sub special. He is the x-factor, and when you bring him on half way through the 3rd qtr with fresh legs he could break a game wide open. From a DT point of veiw, AVOID.

HI guys  :) (first post)

As much as i rate Dids as a player, obviously not on 2011 form, it is a NO for me. My reasoning is that i don't think we will see him back to his big scoring days, not as consistently anyway. He will no doubt punch out some big scores from time to time just don't think it will be regularly. Dids scored well when Cloke and Dawes were still finding their feet (he was their leading goal scorer at one point wasn't he?) but now with these two machines in the forward line Dids role has or will change. I see him playing more of a defensive/negating forward role. We saw him playing this role this season, that and being the sub on a regular basis. He will obviously come back fitter next season, just can't see the consistent big scores anymore. Not worth the awkward price tag in my opinion.

Welcome mate.

All good points but personally I think he will find his way back into the mid-field if healthy, clearly he plays best when he floats towards the middle. Its always a sign that he is crook when he plays closer to goals imo.
Im as skepical about his form as everyone, I was the same with Leon last year and didn't grab him!

I think he is worth the risk being healthy and the fact that he is at his absolute bottom in terms of price and average based on past seasons I think it will be a worthy punt.

All that said I wont pick him if still underdone, Ill only pick him if he looks like he will bolt out the gates, and I will pick a rookie over him if a shining light comes through during the nab.

Voldemort

Definitely not. Himself and Heath Shaw are blacklisted for a reason. Shaw can't have a normal off-field life and Didak can't seem to have much of an on-field life (in 2011 at least)
