Just got back from another ride...

Wasn't that long but that's the most my legs have ached since starting...

Went without the dog today so I didn't really get a break, except 2 seconds when I got off the bike to decide whether I'd turn around or keep going... (I kept going)

Then at a random point when my legs were killing, I got off the bike, turned her 180 and rode back. (Stuff turning around on them narrow footpaths)

I was 1-2km from home and thought for a second... Oh great, I'm going to have to get off and walk the bike home, I can't pedal any longer...

But I made it and and my legs are absolute jelly.

Cicjose

it gets easier the more you do it

it used to take me an hour to walk from my house to the shops and back (3km)

its now taking me half that time

Bike riding burns lots of calories if you do it properly :)
So keep up the good work nails!

outdoors yes, but the bike in the gym is terrible for burning calories. The cross-trainer burns calories twice as fast the bike

Haha Nails ;). It happens if you all of a sudden go on a long bike ride. Your body will feel it today and most likely tommorrow as it's new to it. Probably try not to go so far next time. Start small and then keep adding the distance as somebody before mentioned.

I probably need to get into some shape over the next few months as well as I haven't been "In shape" for years.

I never ride in a gym. Is pointless when you can ride in the fresh air.

when I was 12 I got up to 3000 sit ups in one session.

But it gets really boring.

Their pretty easy- something Ive found is they dont hurt as I can do 50 in a go without much pain, but you stop and you really feel it. Eventually I should be able to do 100 in a set.
