Haha yeah I can't do many diamonds and never been able to do an air one :(
Can you do clap pushups? They are great for developing the power in the pecs instead of endurance like normal pushups do :)
I must be missing something with the diamond ones as putting your nose in the diamond when doing the pushup. is easy for me. What have I done wrong?
try doing it on your toes and not your knees maybe (if you are doing it on your knees that is :P)

Ah thats why. I just assumed it was like the one I explained.
Shower thats hard. flowered up my elbows :/.
Haha BB ;D
Its not bloody funny :P
They are good exercise though.
bahaha :P they are a great exercise, works the whole arms and the chest well
I know.
What can I do to strengthen my legs?
ermmm, not sure, legs can be tricky without equipment as they are already strong enough to do anything with your own body weight easily
Ah ok.
What would you do sit ups for?

One legged squats are good.

no one legged squats are possibly, you need good balance and strength to do them though.

Hey all, my dilemma is this.

Currently I have a fair bit of power and extra meat shall we say in my thigh area. This isn't all bad as my raw leg power is great for some of the inside midfield work I do at footy. I kinda want to add another string to my bow. I want some pace. My question is what can I do to lose some of the extra padding off my thighs to boost my speed and midfield prospects at footy.

Also is there anyways to build up biceps and triceps without doing weights? I find weights incredibly boring.

So two questions.

How to Lose a bit off the thighs?

And

How to build up triceps and biceps without doing weights.

Cheers. Great thread by the way. :)

ask Karmichael :P honestly i dont know exercise wise but if u did like a body trim diet for a month it would help cut u up...

its basically an all protein diet 100gms per meal, combine that with ur usual activities and u should lean up heaps...

Biceps u could use resistance bands and have a physio ($20 visit) design u a program to target what u want ;)

elephants

Haha karmichael.

Not overly keen on any dieting stuff. It's not really as if it's from overeating you see. Dads got massive thighs and was a beast of a back pocket so I'm told. I'm guessing I'd just to lots of running and stuff.

Going to pilates soon too. Apparently it's great for your core strength which should be alright.

Thanks Marcz.

Whatever exercise someone throws at you for Bi's and Tri's are a bit boring. Instead of just weights mix it up with theraband ie surgigal elastic or similar. Swimming will benefit.

Pace is hard to get if it doesnt come natural, running up sand hills or in deep sand will help create explosive muscle power get a yard on your oponent type stuff, running in water, rapid step ups, you have to train to the situation, power to weight ratio applies. you may be faster in a lighter frame but lack strength in a tackle. Its a trade off even Lance Armstrong couldnt dominate the whole Tour De France.

You'll appreciate the pilates, core strength is a huge advantage in so many ways. Look at a Gymnist's body, now who among us wouldnt like that frame.

RiOtChEsS

yeah i wouldnt worry about it Le, just work on ur speed, Ray Rice is hella quick and he is a keg on legs...

i do it from time to time its somewhat difficult to do but u end up looking like uve been on survivor ;D

Sweet cheers Grazz.

Pilates should be beneficial for sure.

Biceps and triceps will be hard to gain motivation. What are push ups supposed to strengthen? Is that pecs and stuff? Maybe I'll use my natural environment (living rurally) and just start lifting rocks :)

What does bike riding do? I assume that just builds up thighs rather than trims them down.

Bikes will help your calves also but weights target them better if you dont want to work the thighs and hammys.

Push ups will target a range of muscles across your your chest and arms/shoulders back etc without alot of extreme benefit except for stamina. and definition. Clapping push ups are better than your standard push up just as extending your arms in front of your body/shoulders and doing them on your fingers. It's horses for courses. Speak to the giys at the gym, pilates etc see what they say
my ways are pre historic now but they work.

Cool thanks for your help grazz and Marcz. I reckon I'll just run ride and swim along with pilates this summer. Doesn't to much for the tris and bis but hey we will see :D

No probs. Theres plenty of info on the net for Bi's and Tri's. I like to use elastic for alot of exercises, so your working as hard on the way up as you are on the way down add this to weights your set numbers will reduce radically as will the size of weights your lifting.

Day off yesterday - was going to play Tennis w/ Sis but she cancelled  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Should be playing tennis w/ her again today. Back to my equal lowest weight in a while (I his this weight a couple weeks ago, but had a bit of a food binge)
