Was just having a bit of a play around with the planner (through pure boredom, can't seriously plan a team now!!!) and noticed quite a few mids I was interested in. Malceski, waters, duff man just a few from the backs. I have always been a mid priced fan though this year my only starter from memory was Addcock and I probablty had my best year, I think a few more mids will find there way in next year.

With a fair few players having below their best years I think it opens up the option for a few mid pricers and hopefully a bit more uniqueness about sides.

Thoughts.

I'm considering...

Armstrong

Caddy and Barlow

Krooza

Morton
J. Brown
J. Roo (unlikely)

That's who I'm looking at.

Armstrong and Barlow are more or less locked.

Armstorng
Barlow
Hayes
Rory Sloane
Robby Gray
Nick Riewoldt
J Brown
Hartlett
Adcock
Beau Waters

Voldemort

Waters, Barlow. No others, dont trust mid-pricers  8)

I'm looking at a few mid pricers... if I'd slept in the past few days I would be doing research as we speak on them all, but.... for the complex statistic correlations I'll nede to be doing, my mind isn't in the right spot atm :P

honestly ftr, I can see waters really stepping up next year to a true premium level. Injury concerns are a worry though.

Voldemort

Waters and Barlow were true premiums last year and on that basis they were chosen. Mid-pricers who have been mid-pricers for a while cant be considered. Another higher mid-pricer D. Zaha?

Ziplock

I wouldn't consider a single year avg of 87 as making waters a 'true premium'.

What's with all the Armstrong love?

5 games at 67.4 in 2011?

9 games at 59.6 in 2010?

I'll take a rookie plz.

Ziplock

firstly armstrongs dt average was 73 :P
secondly, if you remove his injury game, his average was 85.
thirdly, you would presume sydney recruited him because they saw value in his role, and intend to exploit it more... which could lead to heightened dt points :P

I see the value for sure.

for a defender it's pretty good

1st point - Whoops, I'm in the DT section lol

2nd point - signs of injured player? A stretch....

3rd point - Robert Campbell, Jarrad Oakley-Nichols, Andrew Raines, Xavier Clarke, Marcus Drum, Dean Polo.......I'm sure those teams saw 'something' in those guys also when they traded them in ;)

On your 3rd point - The Swans have a proven track record. Mostly in improving mid tier players to near premium status, but its applicable in this situation.

Ziplock

it wasnt signs of an injured player os, I looked up the match report which has him listed as injured :P
playing so few games, an injury, especially on numbers in the 20s, is going to heavily impact his average and subsequent price... it was a valid point.

And yeah- I meant specifically that the swans' recruitment often leads to an increased output in points.

this all being said, I don't think I would touch him in SC at all.

looking at a few mids like,

Boak, Travis
Vince, Bernie
Hannebery, Daniel
Cooney, Adam
Cornes, Kane
Jack, Kieren
Gaff, Andrew
McDonald, James
Prismall, Brent
Winderlich, Jason

Be interesting to see if any of these players can , there proably a fair bit of risks with this players, but are at a reasonable cheap.

i'm with Oss - i don't see a whole lot of value with that risk/return ...
