First up I'm just going to say - Nobody sent me write-ups so we'll have to work without them.

For those that were not involved in this draft, a group of members on FF got together and picked teams consisting of the best players of all time. Each team had an 18-man field, a 4-man bench and three emergencies. This is the same setup that is used by most modern teams.

U may scratch ur head as to why this team is even up for this poll ??? and at a glance i completely agree...
but i like to be different/unique, il try to illustrate as best i can why i believe this team should be the winner...

To win this competition the teams would have to play each other at their players combined peak.

With around 10 teams competing and a vast list of legends everyone will have a Team Of Champions.

A Champion Team will always beat a Team Of Champions.

Rule changes and tactics, how quickly could legends of yesteryear adapt? at their peak the game was vastly different.

Sports Science has advanced today's AFL in tactics, skills, speed and tackle pressure. Watch a game from even 10 years ago u will be amazed at the lack of tactics such as playing on quickly, blocking for teammates,  game tempo, interchange rotations and the free kicks that would be paid in next every contest.

Dominant players in key positions was important to me in selecting the team:

Tony Lockett is a mountain of a man, impossible to beat one out, SOS was once praised for a game where Plugger booted 10 on him.

Lance Franklin, nobody can match up on him for size or speed.

Sandilands, the biggest man to ever play our game.

Nic Nat, freakish ability, contested ball, second man up in the ruck, relentless chase and tackling, break the game open with run and carry.

Glen Jackovich, a lock down defender, routinely shutdown the greatest CHF of all time and he is here to do it again.

Matthew Pavlich won an AA at fullback, incredibly strong fast versatile and can spearhead the rebound from our backline.

X Factors a plenty... Steve Johnson, Adam Goodes, Dale Thomas, Alan Didak and Cyril Rioli

Precision ball use all over the field especially coming out of defense.

Flexibility to cover all positions or exploit a matchup eg: 5 of the back 6 could run forward and kick goals can their opponent go with?

B: Brian Lake, Matthew Pavlich, Leon Davis
HB: Brendon Goddard, Glen Jackovich, Luke Hodge
C: Adam Goodes, Michael Voss, Scott Pendlebury
HF: Steve Johnson, Lance Franklin, Dale Thomas
FF: Cyril Rioli, Tony Lockett, Mark Ricciuto
Followers: Aaron Sandilands, Nicholas Naitanui, Joel Selwood
Bench Andrew McLeod, Paul Chapman, Sam Fisher(key defender rotation), SUB Alan Didak (X Factor)
EMG Darren Jarman, Matthew Richardson, Matthew Lloyd (would get games matchup dependant)

The team will employ the modern press when defending, being relentless in pressuring of ball carriers, defenders will not only defend but intercept balls and rebound immediately as to best utilize the teams superior speed and ability to spread run and carry... so basically they will just play as they already do :P

My question to the voter is not "is this the greatest team of all time"

The question is If these teams played a season, who would be the premiership team?

To me it is painfully obvious that BOOMZ has the best team. Just look at his players, Farmer, who kicked 100 goals in a season 11 times (I think) in a row, averaged 5 goals in State football, considerably more than any other forward of his day - Coventry, Pratt, Mohr, Vallence.

Barrie Robran, the best player to ever play the game. Alex Jesaulenko began to applaud when he first saw Robran in a state game - That's how good he was.

The list just goes on and on ~ Polly Farmer, Denis Marshall, Kelvin Moore, Russell Ebert, Jack Titus, Mel Whinnen, Bob Rose, Haydn Bunton, Jack 'Snowy Hamilton and Ivor Warne-Smith.

Thought it was pretty funny that Ken Farmer lasted until pick 28 considering he is easily one of the greatest forwards ever to play the game. All you silly other people neglecting the players who didn't play VFL to start with :P

I expected him to fall. Did the same thing with Robran.
