Basically a difference of $13k between Redden and Giles and with Reddan now likely to get games as well seen a little more value there.  May change following NAB Cup and who is named. Bench will be between Reddan, Rowe, Giles and Stephenson.

With Defence nothing really stands out for me after the top 3 and this was the case last year so will be observing from beginning as to who to target as upgrade. But then Adcock and Lake could show form and become keepers if both get back to best form.

Basically I will be staying with prems named and selecting rookies based on NAB Cup and who is named.

Thanks for comments CS.

Treloar and Crozier risky - I think you can do better there. I don't expect Treloar to play much this year.

Not sure about Pav. I also have some concerns with J. Brown also. Love him - he's a South Warrnambool boy but my sources suggest he has some chronic injury problems that may mean he's approaching the end. Having said that if you were going to take a punt on anyone it would be Browny - he has a huge heart. Beware the wounded warrior!

Ringo

Thanks Billy - Brownie is actually training the house down and looks very mean and fit.  His first full pre season in 10 years.  Been to a couple of Lions training sessions too.  As a said rookies will be finalised just prior to round 1 some threr just to complete team.

I am pleased to hear that. Always good to get an eye witness account. He's definitely worth considering as a player to bring in with a mind to an upgrade later - I can see him missing games at some stage but if he's fit early - get on.

Yep have to agree or even have him from the start & then upgrade him.

BillyBeane

How you like me now? Rowe may be a concern but it's only an AC joint injury - not life threatening and the blues rate him. As for Suckling - any kid that goes from averaging 50's to 90's in a year has improvement in him. Browny's still a little expensive for my tastes and is a notoriously slow starter.

Brendon Goddard, Greg Broughton, Matt Suckling, Matthew Buntine, Paul Bower, Tim Mohr, Nathan Blee
Beau Wilkes, Brian Lake

Gary Ablett jnr, Marc Murphy, Tom Rockliff, Joel Selwood, Michael Barlow, Darren Pfeiffer
Dayne Zorko, Tom Couch

Matthew Kreuzer, Nic Naitanui
Jarrad Redden, Orren Stephenson

Nathan Fyfe, Dustin Martin, Patrick Dangerfield, John Butcher, Allen Christensen, Sam Rowe, Billie Smedts
Steele Sidebottom, Tory Dickson

BillyBeane

yeah naste - a semantics problem there - I meant have him from the start with an aim to upgrade him later. I wouldn't be seeking to bring him in mid season unless his price dropped.

Sabretooth Tigers

G'day Ringo,
nice prems and mids, of course rookies at this stage just names and profiles. Not being a Shaw man but a Broughton fan won't go there. Seems everybody has gone Luey mad in the ruck, not exactly sure why must be something I've missed. My only worry with this team is the $$s spent on your rookies. Is there enough cash availlable if you require better rookies. Are they strong enough this year to play 3/5 in the midfield ? Sure we're all sweating on the NAB Cup for answers to many questions. Still, a classy team, which is what we've all come to expect from you. Seems we both want to get rid of " Bridesmaids " mantle this year, got beaten by 41 last year by my nephew who finished in the top 250s. No more Mr Niceguy. Cheers and goodluck.

Relly solid team hear Ringo! well structured and if Lake and Brown have a good season or at least start of the season it will set you up well.

Not too sure on Adams. I dont really see too much upside this year for him IMO.
I know it is a gamble but i would watch to see how Dangerfield is used in the NAB cup. i think he has more improvement in him and is also 52k cheaper. That is only my opinion tho.

Good luck

Ringo

Just a couple of comments
Gone with Zac Smith as second ruck as a POD mainly due to the fact that he has bulked up a lot and this should help with his endurance.  Had a great start last year before fading. If he starts well again and then fades perefct for upgrading before price falls.
Starting with Goodes due to Swans favourable draw.
Also think Swallow will lift as a result of Captaincy.
Swan/Pendleberry are mid upgrade targets
Will have 12 definite keepers and maybe 15 if risks pay off thus making the Round 12 byes my only donut at this stage.

Please feel free to comment openly.

i don't know how you only get one donut? if i go in 8-11-11 i get 2 in round 13 if i go in 8-12-10 which i have, i get one in 12 and 1 in 13. But anyway your team (like you need and advice :) )

defence is great, hearing a lot of good things about murphy..
mids great, i still have barlow good to see you do too i think he can get back to his 2010 scoring swallow = GUN
rcks are solid, might lost 10-20 points max with smith over another premium (more likely 10) so good pick
solid fwds 3 best for the year i reckon and the biggest breakout fwd, and the cheapest premium fwd.

Great team Ringo, but I reckon you already knew that :)

reesbr

Love the pick of Rob Murphy. trying to squeeze him into my team

Ringo

Have studied this team with byes in mind as well. At this stage looks like I will cop a donut in Rounds 12 and 13 still playing around with DPP to see if I can cut it to 1.
Strategy will be 4/6 trades required prior to Round 11 bye to bring Team to 8/11/11 structure (Allowing for downgrades and upgrades if needed) 6 Trades for Rounds 12 and 13.  Should leave me then 12 trades for LTi's and other upgrades out of which I will be aiming for a minimum of 6 for finals.
As we know all best plans can fall apart.

Sorry ringo, you can't cut it to one without ruck dpp.  Ill save you the time by saying it is impossile.  At best you'll have two.
