I think Brisbane's season will be defined in the first 7 rounds.
Not an easy start to the season with playing Carlton, Geelong and Collingwood admittedly all at the Gabba and a trip to Pattersons to play Freo all by round 7 and then West Coast in Round 10.

Get to play the Suns twice and GWS once which may help.

Of the top Teams that finished top 8 this year only play Carlton and West Coast twice.

Downside only 5 day break between Rounds 1 and 2. Round 1 at MCG Saturday v Melbourne probably an ideal opener considering the Mitch Clark issue followed by Thursday Night at the Gabba V Carlton. After this we only have 3 6 day turn arounds.

3 Sunday afternoon games (one with a 3:15 start) at the Gabba is more than usual.

Will also get used to new times as well with Saturday Night games starting at 7:40pm but with one at 4:40pm.

Will miss the travel to Launceston v Hawks which has been a tradition for the last couple of years for Brisbane supporters.

Overall reasonable draw apart from the first seven rounds with travel and games against heavyweights. Would like our chances of top 8 if we were 4 and 3 or 3 and 4 after the first seven rounds.

Me too pothead - Injuries were an issue last year,  Really missed the sauces big body in defence.

we definitely did he leads our backmen and is a big part of our team we also need brown to have a good year and whoever takes mitch clarks position down forward whether it be someone we pick up in the draft or someone like cornelius to stand up and help brown out

Nice acquisitions in Lisle, Zorko and Hudson for the short term. But you need more than that for Top 8.
Thin back line will be the main issue. If Merrett goes down you won't win a game.

Not sure about top 8 but should hover around 10-12. 2013 should be the Lions year. @Maca24 Yes their backline is a bit thin but they can work on their defence. They should pick up a good Defender like Frost or Talia in the draft.

well obviously i am not meaning anywhere like top 4, 8th will be the teams aim and it is possible if we have a good year without tomany injuries to key players such as the merrett

Pot I am hoping Karnezis follows up from last year to ease pressure on Brownie.
I suspect we will be playing Lisle back as a straight swap for Staker.  Our back line when no injuries is sound Merrett, Drummond, Adcock, Hanley (hope he can continue to shine) Patful (under rated by quite a few imo) McKeever (showing promise) and Lisle.
I am predicting 8th for us this year given our reasonable draw in second half.

thats what i am hoping for i dont know if we will be able to go a whole year without any of them getting some injuries that would leave them out for a few weeks, it always seems to be our backline that gets hurt the most

I feel if Karnezis can help an injury free Brown (if he doesn't break his face again  :P)
Adcock can also stay out of injuries way and Rockcilff and Redden can improve on this season
It would be an well improved Brisbane side come 2012
