TORPEDO goals from outside 50m worth 12 points and penalties for contact between opposing ruckmen at stoppages may be implemented as part of a series of proposed rule trials for the 2012 NAB Cup.

will entice some big kicks nice :)

Like the torp rule, always good to see a big torp :)
But penalties for ruckmen touching each other? Does this game want to become non contact? Or can you explain that a bit more...

Ah so ruckmen just can't touch before the ball is bounced/thrown in, once it has been bounced they can still bump each other. Fair enough, but don't really see how that is going to help/change the game at all

i like the ruck rule will see some nice jumping taps more often, dont like the 12 points for a torp goal from outside 50. if you can kick it from 50 well good for you and your team you dont risk the bad disposals of getting it inside 50 and possibly a turn over.

If you get it in from outside 50 Well done but your not getting an extra 6 points for an advantage to you.

stupid rule wouldnt mind seeing 6 points for a 50m goal and 9 points for a 60m goal. if your going to try and make them go for torps why not just make it a huge kick and if you can kick 60m with a drop punt thats just as good.

How about 1 point for each 10m! 10m out equals 1 point, 20m out equals 2 points, lol
