So pleased with this announcement. Common sense prevailed and see no reason why he will not continue in 2013 based on the performance measures set.  Good to see Polkinghorne, McKeever and Hanley re-sign as well.

A bit sad to see Collier delisted  so hopefully will be picked up by another club.

I read this thinking...

Black resigns.....

I was like WTF RINGO I THOUGHT YOU LIKED BLACK HOW IS BLACK QUITTING A GOOD THING  >:( >:( >:( >:(

Then I thought about it and :D

Ringo

Nails that was why I put the hyphen in re-signs to try and distinguish resigns.

I could not believe we were arguing about his contract extension.

Will think he will better this year as teams may also pay attention to Rocky as well loosening his tags maybe.

i am glad his contract was extended for 2 more years, he showed no sighn of slowing down this year and if other teams do give there tags to rocky or redden then black should get more of it  :)

I am really glad about this. I am not a Lions supporter but I think Black is a awesome player and will go down as one of the greats. He was underrated because he was in the 2001-2004 era of the Lions.

+1 he is probably the best player to ever play for the brisbane lions if you ask me

I would probably rate them both about equal as they have both been great players and hard to pick a better one really and Luke power isnt far off those two either

Ringo

I would rate Voss above Black as a player due to his ability to break a game open when required or do something that lifted the side, whereas Black was ever present but not catching the eye like Vossie.  You could probably also put Nigel Lappin into the same category along with Power.

TheMailman

Hopefully he can continue his good form over the next two seasons

I daresay they may be his last

Ringo

No doubt Mails as he will be 34 in 2014 and not many play at that age. I believe he will play consistently for the next 2 years no reason to doubt when you look at similar players like Harvey who is 34 this year and Goodes who is the same age.
