Hello All i was wondering how many of us are into fishing, ive been a keen Angler since i was a kid and enjoy wetting a line whenever i can. Above is a photo of my best catch to date in terms of weight to Tackle used, a Yellow Fin Tuna weighing 27kg's on 10 kilo tackle caught just off Sth Neptune Island in SA that took 40 minutes to get to the net. This fish was released to fight another day. Id like to hear from others and see some of your pics either being your best catch to date or some of your favourite fishy pics.

Nice one Grazz.  2 fish stand out for me:

1)  A 1m Cobia caught on 15lb line off Hamilton Island
2)  65cm Spanish Mackeral caught also on 15lb line in Shark Bay

I did some fishing on the weekend and the best catch was a 42cm Taylor

Cobia go alright dont they, i was in Cairns in 2010 with the wife and my daughter and her husband Jim, he landed a nice Cobia that i have a picture of so i'll get that up and i managed a similar size Spaniard to yours that we released as i think they had to be 75 cm's to be a keeper so i'll get that up to. Then we proceeded to get smashed by some big GT's, i wish i hadnt left the Saltiga back at the apartment or we may of been able to land a couple. Where abouts in WA do you do most of your fishing mate.

If we stay Metro then we go to Cockburn sound on a boat.  Fishing trips we always go north.  Jurien Bay was the where we were on the weekend.

I hate fishing.

I've been fishing a total of two times.

First time was with a girl....Who was my neighbor at the time... ;)

Anyway, I thought I'd look 'tough/impressive' and try and throw it really long. I did, only to snag all this pond weed/debris whatever and it got stuck a long ways out. I tried yanking it back and I snapped off her father's prized lure.

Second time was near Geelong on a pier and I only succeeded to snag the pier several time and cut myself. Really don't like it.

We have like 8 dams all with fish in them. Some guy from a trout farm puts.....You guessed it..Trout into a damn to 'test' or some shower with them.

We all got to start some where mate, dont let 2 bad experiences put you off, it's really a fantastic sport.

NOt sure how to post up the pics on here yet in the posts but i have a lot of pics of a lot of big fish we catchmainly on out annual charter trip to Swains Reef off Gladstone.

Also do a weekens whenever possible and go off the islands to flat rock and deep tempress. Not a fan off beack fishing but do it with the kids from time to time for thier benefit and love to catch a flathead more than anything.

But the big reef fish is more  what i chase than the sports fish catch and release jobs ny old man likes to go for mackeral and marlin and take photos, i prefer a tasty reef fish in my frying pan :)

Ive heard of Swains Reef. We do charters although we have a 20ft boat and most of our fishing is done in our boat. With my boys we do it all Beach Estuary Offshore- Bait Lures Softplastics, travel the country i.e Cairns Perth and inbetween to go fishing. You are in a great state for fishing. Cairns was amazing Barra Spaniards Jacks and GT's just to name a few, loved it. We are 90% catch and release, we only keep what we want to eat, river and estuary is 99.9% release.

I got put onto Photobucket and i upload my photos from there, so much easier now.

The best I've caught is a 33cm flatty down at Metung early last year.
