Every time I try to put in the password it redirects me to 'everywherechat' and then I enter the name of the chatroom there and it shows a 'connecting' screen for ages  :-[

Alright. So when you click on the link, the chat loads in the background and you'd get the little window where you're required to put a name (nick), password and room.

If you're coming in via the link in the OP of this thread the room will be filled in already.

Put in a name (BigMac, Big Mac... whatever you want) and then hit connect.

Sometimes you don't actually have to put the password for the chatroom in.

If it doesn't work the way I've said, try the above using the chatroom password in the OP of this thread.

Let me know if it doesn't work.

Or just enter as a random guest (e.g. Guest3247) and just tell people who you are from FF, that works as well if usernames are taken :P.

When I click the link, I can see the chat loading in the background but when I click on the little window to put my 'nick' in, it just redirects me to 'everywherechat'. Even if I don't try to put in a name and just click connect it still redirects me. Then if I try to enter the chat via the 'everywherechat' page it just shows a 'connecting' screen forever. Not sure what it could be - I am on a Mac but not sure if that makes a difference.
