You can tell Gale's background has nothing to do with running an end to end business operation, he is a marketing guy. So what does a marketing guy do when he comes in?

1) Promotes to the media and fans that we are a huge club and should aim for 70,000 members - tick
2) Change the logo - tick
3) See point 1.

Personally I'm indifferent to the new logo but given all the apparent focus groups, tendering processes etc, I can't help but think there are more important issues to tackle at the Richmond Football Club.

I think Fremantle and Melbourne's new logos look great, but not sure it was necessary here

The new full logo loks ok but that jumper looks like it was made by Walt Disney - there is simply no need.

I really like it, I think it looks slick. Everyone in my Diploma class said they really like it. Not sure why some don't. I'm all for tradition,  but doesn't mean this one's bad because you liked the old one.

As I lions supporter whose club changed logos I know what you are going through but unfortunately the marketing gurus have a lot of say in designs.  Personally I still prefer our original Lion but have to move with the times. Your design actually does not look too bad.

Same with the Crows Ringo. Prefer the older logo, but you get used to it and just move with the times as you said. Nothing we can really do about it

I like seeing clubs stick with the same logo... I don't get the need to change it.
