Surfers' Say
It has been an exciting day today with 1 deal getting done and many others to come. Charlie Dixon wants out, while Josh Fraser may be forced into retirement. There have been clubs circling our captain, Gary Ablett, as one to get but don't worry rumors will be rumors. We are still looking for ruckman, key forwards, tall defenders and small forwards. Andrew Krakouer is one to look at. There may be a deal done in 10 minutes so fasten your seatbelts, it's coming from Sydney if any.

For all those new managers, check my team list and you can see all the players i'm willing to offer. It's on page 2 of the team lists thread.

The Western Bulldogs have entered trade week with a deal that sees them land a young star and a ruckman to replace the outgoing Ben Hudson.

It sees the man that every opposition club fears - Will Minson - and an emerging Key position backman in Lukas Markovic, along with a 1st round pick (17) and the Callan Ward compo pick going to North Melbourne - who gave up Ryan Bastinac and pick 40. The Kangaroos also on-traded former Adelaide and Fremantle ruckman Jonathan Griffin.

After years of never winning a flag the club's manager cracks it throws away Freo's future for the chance of a flag. The manager jokes that after all their players retire they might even be as bad as port.

Freo trade pick 16 , 27, deboer, suban, faulks, roberton, moribito for Waters and Kerr.

Aren't we getting carried away with there trades? It's called trade WEEK for a reason. We should really be more creative with our trades, push and push for the right trade.

North Melbourne were very happy that this deal would be given the green light by all parties involved.

"Obtaining two first round draft picks in this years draft is a big coup for the club. The depth of talent in the draft is phenomenal, we are very excited for the future of this club", North Melbourne list manger, c4 said today.

"Also, we are very happy to welcome Lucas Markovic to North Melbourne, he's a fine addition to our backline."

Reporters did however wonder about the quick on-trade of Jon Griffin...  :-\

QuoteBrisbane says goodbye to club great

Earlier tonight Brisbane legend Jonathan Brown confirmed suspicions that he'd be moving west, signing a lucrative deal with the Fremantle Dockers.
In return, 'cellar dwellers' Brisbane will receive two of the brightest young stars in the land in Sam Day & Harley Bennell, who were taken with picks 3 and 2 in the 2010 National Draft.

"We're stoked to have Sam & Harley at the club, they're both extremely exciting prospects."
Brisbane coach, Sid said earlier tonight.

It is also rumored that Brisbane big men Mitch Clark and Matthew Luenberger are being offered as trade bait, with many clubs showing interest, expect a deal to be struck involving at least one of the pair in the next few days.

Well that one opens trade week right up :P

The Aggressive Approach
The Brisbane Lions are showing they aren't afraid to hurt feelings this trade week, nobody is un-tradable and no spot on the list is safe.
The trading of young star Daniel Rich shows this, just a few years ago Brisbane supporters were raving about how the next best thing was at their club. Well he's not anymore, he'll be joining Melbourne, along with National Draft Selection 52.

In return the Lions will receive Andrew Gaff and National Draft Selection 36.

"We couldn't be happier to have Andrew at the club, I really feel that we're starting to build the same core midfield that so many great teams are built around,"
Said Sid, the Brisbane Coach.

This certainly sets us up for an exciting and action packed trade week, are Brisbane shooting for the same 'instant mix' success that saw the team depleted in the trade week of 2008? All will be revealed in the next 6 days.

Looks like things are heating up in QLD ;)
