Armstrong has left, but the Crows are racking up the draft picks, what do you make of it?

Win-Win for both teams.
Johnston will be a great future forward for Crows.

Armstrong is starting to have more threads than a Persian rug  ::)

A raw young natural talent that went off tangent with the influence of alcohol and the esteem of being an AFL player. Surely not a great personal lifestyle choice for him to go to Sydney if he truly intends to make good his AFL career and abstain from these exterior pressures when Sydney is probably indeed the Capital of Influence.

Does anyone know how long Armstrongs licence was expired for after his DUI charge? - has he got it back?

Good luck in Sydney Tony, only if Crows can find a suitable replacement - after all Bernie Vince will need a new drinking buddy  ;)

What do you mean they are racking up the draft picks? They traded away 2 and didn't get any back in return.

Yup. Great for the Crows to get rid of him IMO

Fyfe_gun

Sydney would be laughing so hard. They got two picks and armstrong for an average player with an injury history. Should have just been straight swap armstrong for johnston

Win for sydney and loss for crows. Hopefully armstrong just falls away and gets delisted at the end of the year coz he doesnt deserve an AFL career

they also got 3 from the Hawks

CrowsFan

Yeah but you said they are racking up the draft picks when referring to a trade where they lose 2.
Also Adelaide currently only have the 4 draft picks so even though they got 3 from Hawks they aren't racking them up since they gave 2 picks to the hawks during the trade.
The picks the Crows have are: 24, 46, 64 and 89.

I reckon 24 is likely to be traded too, and we'll end up with a couple of really late picks. I don't mind it, and also disagree with fyfe, the deal probably tips in Sydney's favor with the late pick, but 35 and Armstrong for a young bloke who was a gun junior, and first round pick is worth the rest of the deal. Not getting an established gun is probably going to have most people saying we've had a failed trade period, but getting a few blokes who've been in the system a couple years who have obvious potential, probably outweighs some speculative picks in an apparent 'flat' draft pool. Like everything this week though, it will be a couple of years before we really will know

CrowsFan

Who do you think they will be trading pick 24 for DG?

DG

I don't know, Hooker was being talked about late last week, but don't think essendon will let him go. Noble kept saying last week that more was to come from the Gunston trade, and that they had a few blokes prepared to come. At pure guess, blokes like koby Stevens or Farren Ray could be possible. I think we'll also end up with that Jenkins bloke for a late pick too.

DG

And I still reckon that the Tippett trade is still well and truly on the cards, if Brisbane offer picks 8 and 12, or their compo pick, the crows will hit tippo up with a new deal and if he's not interested they'll ship him out. We have picked up 2 potential key fwds (granted not as tall), maybe as insurance?
