for you guys that own an xbox 360 and go online

i wanted to jump online just to download a few updates for my games...(haven't paid to play online at all)

but with silver membership which is free you can still download the free updates like patches and such

now when i try and connect it says ok to network then to xbox live it fails and says this console has been bannd

now is this because i haven't set something up right?

no i haven't modded it i haven't done nothing illegal at all on it

so i'm stumped

wait i think i might of bought it pre owned from EB games
meaning they stooged me.....F********K

i'm so pissed off i go pay for a 360 for my son and it's bloody been banned

Justin Bieber

Go tell EB games and try to get a refund!

I stopped going to EB because their prices are way too high when I find cheaper (and sometimes better games) at places like Target or Big W :P.

yeah problem being is i bought it like 6 months or so ago
but i only had wirless prepaid net so i never tried

now i have adsl2 i wanted to try

point being if i go to them now there argument could be

well u have had it for over 6 months how do we know u didn't get yourself banned

Master Q

Go try and get a refund or it might be that you have Silver not Gold - Not to sure as Internet is free on the PS3  :P

Justin Bieber

6 months doesn't help :-\. Could still try though like Q said, just incase you get somebody good there!

I don't have an XBOX 360 or PS3 so can't help on that side of things :-X.

Call up Microsoft support and let them know you bought the console second hand. They should unban you.

yeah i'm gonna try this approach ;)

Cicjose

it could have been worse

you could have bought a game that requires online registration that no longer works.....

Daz, I am doing a course atm with 3 Territory Managers from EB Games - I'll be sure to pass on your comments/issues on the 19th when I see them next  >:(

HP I agree with the pricing of games at Target/BW etc. but the real kicker for me and my lad is the trade in side of things at EB  8)

Nails

Cheaper to buy the games from the UK... I find sometimes... quite often actually that they're half price if you order from the UK.

Only downside is you have to wait a week or so for postage... but I know I'd prefer to get 2 awesome games e.g. NHL 12 and Gears of War 3 for the price of what GoW3 would cost me alone.

Aren't you lucky then ;). I find the Target I go to have a good selection and half the time the games I like are on clearance :P. Use to go to EB games for PS2 pre-owned games. Get some for like $10 :P.

thanks roost
if at the least they learn from this so no one else gets this happen to them
then it's a win

and as usual roost you come to the call of arms....your a dead set legend mate

I'm a dead set believer in dealing with complaints quickly otherwise it rots away your customer base with dissatisfaction (which is why m0nty spends his time reading feedback and not participating in much other forum banter -he's a smart cookie  8))
No one likes hearing complaints, and many of us have developed a reflex shrug, saying, "You can't please all the people all the time". Maybe not, but if you give the complaint your attention, you may be able to please this one person this one time - and position your business to reap the benefits of good customer service.

If you apply the simple rule of treat others how you would like to be treated, consistently, your business will become known for its good customer service. And the best part? The irony of good customer service is that over time it will bring in more new customers than promotions and price slashing ever did!

Word of mouth is strong my friend - it is the best form of advertising, it's free  ;)

EB games are dodgy as.

I bought a dodgy Gamecube from them that didn't work, so I went back and got another one. That didn't work either. They were both pre-owned. Also, they stole my Star Wars: Jedi Outcast game from me!

I traded my Gamecube in so I could get a PS3 and I left a game disc inside it. I rang up and inquired about it and they said 'they'd look for it.' Bullshower, I never got that game back!

I purchased a brand new PS1 from them and it didn't work either.  :(
