I feel that if a deal cannot be struck with Fremantle, that Melbourne will be able to secure him on a smaller 1-2 year deal.

I can't see Mitch Clark going into the draft;

(a) Because Melbourne will take him before Fremantle, so essentially will get him cheaper on a two year deal.

(b) He will end up on a club other than Fremantle's list for a lower pay contract than what he would of had if a trade were taken to Fremantle or Melbourne.

or (c) he will crack the showers and wont play :-\

Technically, if he nominates for the draft, and then refuses to play, he'll likely get suspended for years

RiOtChEsS

is that a rule? im sure he could find some loop hole to exploit...

eg: no show for training here and there, claim to be sore, play lame the list goes on...

is a club really going to pick him up if he is walking out on a club to go where he wants?

clubs would be better off just staying out of it imo...

He can nominate his pay rate and either price Melbourne out of it or make a hell of a lot of money from Melbourne on a higher wage than they offered.

Yes, but then Fremantle would HAVE to pay that, and Melbourne have more space in their salary cap then anyone else.

Irrelevant now...

According to EVERYONE on twitter including SEN and Robbo he has signed a 4 year deal with Melbourne for pick 12!

Great pickup for Melbourne.
Where does this leave Jamar/Martin if Clark does some ruck work?

Few surprises so far this trade week...

I wonder if this means Brisbane will now make another play for Kurt Tippett...

Anyhow, massive pickup for Melbourne. He'll definitely be placed up forward, Martin up back and Jamar #1 ruck with some form of rotation policy...

sounds like jack watts is looking like a bigger fantasy option now... you would think clark would take a lot of the defence pressure off him.

(links subject back to important matters... dream team :P )

Maca24

You could easily have a 3 way rotation. Would be pretty handy  :P
Surely Lions will get Tippett now.
Crows are better off accepting a trade before he leaves for nothing next year.
