Thanks for the rate guys.

@ Ringo, yeah i have not really found a way to implement DPP for Ruck switching with the new positions but hopefully can figure out a way.

@ tferrier, If you are looking for the blog entry of m0nty's its on the actual fanfooty front page (not the forum)

@ newfreofan, He is C/F, i don't know if you have had time to check the new positions but he was recently changed from C to C/F

Ringo

Have been struggling with this as well and from my calculations with the limited no of R/F now ot will be virtually impossible.  May have to eat some donuts in other lines,

Or burn a lot of trades in the run up to rounds 11,12 and 13 and in those rounds as well.

Nope, haven't looked at what Monty has him on fanplanner, but I'm logged into supercoach right now using the supercoach gold preview team selector thing and he's only a midfielder.

Edit: Just checked fanplanner and yeah it's different to what the actual supercoach site has him listed as.

Hmm that's weird, I though m0nty had changed the positions to the ones on the actual supercoach gold, although they could of changed it back to just centre on the actual assistant coach it was subject to change after all. Apologies.

Heh, don't be sorry mate! :) I'm pretty sure they had S Rowe listed as just a forward the other day but now he's an R/F but I can't be sure if I've got that right. Sneaky buggers.

Ringo

After quite some deliberation over the rules and byes and with playing league matches rounds 11-13 I have decided on this startegy.

Will set my Team up as 8/11/11.  ie players from the teams that have the byes in each round.E nsure that all rookies I have listed are playing and this will be important to the number of trades.
No trades week 11
Week 12 Trade in 3 players to Team 11 from players listed in week 12 teams. Structure will then be 11/8/11
Week 13 Trade in 3 Players from week 13 players to week 12 Structure then 11/11/8

have used only 6 trades of the 24 allowed for season. And if trading diligently you can then maximise your team over the next couple of weeks.

This is the best i can come up with as bye strategy.

newfreofan

The only problem I can find with this trading strategy is that it may lead to compromises on downgrades / upgrades and picking non optimal rookies. What value is the cut off for
A) not trading a player out at his peak b/e, or in when on the bubble.
B) choosing a different prem than your gut tells you,
All just to fit in with not getting a 0 in one round. I don't see a point picking a player over another who may score 100-200 less over a season to avoid said 0. Plus in the event of early season injuries and failed rookies you're at risk of looking for alternatives with little peripheral vision if focused solely on bye strategy.
I believe this is a situation where the old adage "it's a marathon, not a sprint" comes into play. The season is more than just three rounds. Sure try to minimize the damage but don't rob Peter to pay Paul.
