no point talking about rookies when you dont know what club they will be playing for and any preseason form.

Agree - all this early speculation about rookies is fairly pointless and can only be used as a guide to who's out there.  Some of the cream usually rises to the top in the NAB cup, but even that form can be misleading.

bundyboy

who can even think about making that kind of call this early  :o

crazy talk....

lets wait 4 months and then we can start thinking about this kind of dilemma... ;)

The_Captain

ahh 2 of these players are not even rookies... and holzman... this coming from a guy who has already posted numerous teams on a number of threads? thought you would at least have one of these players in your 50 teams?

Ziplock

no point in discussing rooks as we know little to nothing about them. Bower is a fringe player, and not exactly prolific DT scorer at the best, while caddy has only played two games, is a second year player (if you can call that 2 games a year)... 200k is too dear for him imo.

Neither, they would have to show ridiculous pre-season (or in Bower's case be traded to a really shower club), for consideration.

And honestly, I doubt in the (maybe 3 teams) holz has made, he would have dropped someone like Bower or Caddy in.

yeah you are right i have 2 teams with 2 different salary caps  and a team i made a long time ago, but im focusing on players who have played afl before. I really just picked rookies at random.

I wasnt trying to be rude by telling you who knows about rookies. If you were to ask about eahc player idividually i would have said.

Caddy: I like the guy and infact i have him in both my teams, obviously would have to monitor his preseason but he is in that 6th spot currently but could easily be overtaken by the likes of contaligo etc.. or whoever is good preseason.

Tyson: Looks good, however i dont know who he plays, whether he will play or his true DT output so talking about him is pointless, just keep him on your radar.

Bower: Once again who is he playing for next year, i dont like him that much now but if he gets traded might be someone to look at. Would have to wait till trade season ends before i even think about him.

Bruce: Even though i know he plays for GWS i have no clue who else they will be picking up with their many picks in the draft. So same with tyson, where will he play and will he even play.

so you have 3 guys, 2 you dont know what club they will play for and the other you dont know what his team will look like.  Caddy is a guy you might want to keep in that 6th spot for now because we dont know much about the rookies at this stage. So i have put him in my teams as he will be priced around the top draft picks and im pretty sure i will have 1 of them so rather than putting in them i put him in.

just a heads up not a very good idea starting a thread, than asking for replies and than going after people who are infact giving you the correct advice as your first 3 post.

I actually like caddy, plus at 200k he wont be much different to the top rookies. I have him in my teams but half the reason is if i want to pick up a guy like contaligo or tyson i can. I would suggest you keep an eye on caddy i feel he could do a simualr thing to shuey this year and post a 80 average

PowerBug

I say, go enjoy the cricket, the domestic comps are under way now. :P i haven't even heard of some of these players.

holzman, wasnt really having a crack, was just saying thought you would be pretty knowledgeable on the subject since you have put up a number of teams. Very hard to pick rookies now i know, but the main one who i had no idea on was bruce. I figured since he is on GWS list already he must have played a few games in their local comp and someone may know a thing or two about him.

Just thought by the 4th person (bundyBoy) there was no need to state that there is no point talking about rookies at this time when the previous 3 posts stated this.

But Holzman and Ziplock, thanks for your advice. apologies if iv'e upset anyone in anyway.

Josh Bruce

All-Australian Interchange player in 2010, after dominating the carnival for NSW who's performance was below par. Played as a KF and had a similar carnival to that of Jon Patton this year, but was in a team of lesser quality meaning he didn't have as many oppurtunites. Played mainly back for GWS this season but can also lock down the CHF position. Josh is a bigger bodied player who may take time to develop in the AFL and in Fantasy football.

no problem i think it was just the way you asked for advice that made people respond the way. Picking between players is something you do 2 weeks before the season. If you ask for advice on particualr players you will get a much better response

Thanks for your advice Holzman!

MTTY, interesting information, will take that on board. Thanks
