Given that at the end of next season FTP will feature new leagues, I have decided to jump on the bandwagon after I missed out on Scotland which prove highly successful for all those who move.

My plans for next season involve:
Removing all players over 26 and possibly going lower if replacements are purchased.
Going the young approach and not caring about match results, instead using the div 3 experience and prizemoney to my advantage to set me up for a good move

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this concept and whether its a good, bad or utterly stupid idea. Of course I will have to wait until the EOS to actually finalised this plan based on EOS wage updates

Barlow 21

I like it!
I've already got a young group U22 but I will consider moving as I'm in Div 4 Sri Lanka.

Im not 100% sure about it though as I hate losing which next season it will most likely occur alot. I am not planning on going completely young just bring the age down and having everyone eventually 25 or younger

It won't be for like 4 seasons that you'll get decent/full sponsorship etc. in div 1.

Therefore I think bad move, just better staying where you are.

But nails look how everyone else benfited from moving to scotland when it first came out. Heaps of them are in decent leagues. The 2 up 4 down policy works well and progress through the ranks well. In like 1 season I would be back to the same leagues that I am atm but with a much younger side and not needing to push hard for massive match ratings

It all comes down to what players you bring in.  Ideally you want at least accom/accom or expert/expert type players with good secondaries.  I went down this path a few seasons ago and it is starting to pay dividends for me.  You have to set the plan and then not stray from the path.

My plan was to get all primaries to out/out then finish off secondaries.  Now all of my players are at least that and secondaries are strong as well.

Also try and get players of different ages.

I initially went

2 x 20yo
2 x 21yo
2 x 22yo
2 x 23yo

Then the best keeper and all-rounder you can get.

It makes it easier for you in the future when you have to start replacing players as they get old

cookie311993

Thanks for that valk but due to already having a rather low side I dont need to purchase plenty of players. All I really need is replacement players.

Batters x3
1 for Backman
1 for Hussain
1 for Fortuyn

Will be keeping Gayle(24) and Cook(22), to be the rocks of my batting and build around them.

Bowling
1 for Desmazeures
1 for Aktar
Already have a replacement for Desmazeures but he is ordinary experience about to turn 21 and he is a medium.

Will be seeking most likely 2 Fms/F as replacements.

Keeping
I already have Slippens who is 20 and will be a beast for me

All-rounder
Burton wont get rid of him as he is close to playing nats :)

I have a reli/cap 19yo fast bowler that I will be selling at the EOS.  He should pop to reli/reli soon as he has 4502 spare rating

You might want to have a look at him

cookie311993

Thanks but no thanks Valk his fielding is way to bad for my liking would take ages just training fielding to have him where i want him and leave virtually no time for primary training

roo boys!

I like it, good plan.

I won't be doing it though. Might blood a couple of youngsters next season though, seeing as it seems I will demote in seniors so should have a relatively easy season next year in a lower league.

cookie311993

Thanks rb. It should help me in no time have 1 mil saved up with alot of the season left to go

Master Q

This is how I started though I bought too many 19/20 year olds and some of them weren't good enough.

cookie311993

You Q however don't have the academy to do that which didn't help either. If you worked on your academy as soon as working out your were going to go the young approach it would have benefited your side alot more

Seems 4 people reckon what I am doing is a bad mistake
