Well Elton is the second best ruckman in this draft. He's more of a part time ruckman, part time key forward, but he can do either well. His 9 games with the Stingrays this season saw him mainly playing as a Tall Forward with some Stints in the ruck, not a full time ruck. Despite his fairly large stature, he's actually quite the agile big man! He is quite fast for his size not to mention his leaping abilities (which helps with the ruck). He has good endurance which allows him to outwork his opponents, whether it be up forward or in the ruck, he can really wear down his opponents. He has a great mark which is why he can also play a Key Forward. These should help him at the top level as his potential to be an AFL ruckman is certainly there for his abilities. What he lacks though is consistency and influence on games.

Despite his size, he doesn't really stand out like a Longer in the ruck. Despite his abilty to work on the ground to get possessions, he doesn't get many 15+ disposal games. Given he does play alot forward, he can't use hs speed a whole lot, so doesn't get many possessions. He can tackle (2 games with 4 and 5 tackles) but due to his forward role, it's not happening occasionally. If he plays ruck, probably will happen more with his speed. Eltons can take contested marks through his size by playing as a Key forward. He can also kick goals, but like every Key Forward, can go missing. He can do things but his inconsistency is what gets the better of him. He has the tools to be a top 5 pick but his lack of performances on the field means he'll slip to somewhere in the first round. He could prove a bargain if they help him find some consistency which should come from age and experience.

Fantasy Relevant? Expected to be a top 15 pick as many clubs would like a young Ruckman or Key Forward, in which Elton can be both. With the sub rule being introduced, his ability to play forward and pinch hit ruck will see his draft stocks rise, potentially to top 10 (although wouldn't bet on it). I'd expect him to take time to develop but could play from the get go. Expect a team such as Melbourne, GWS, Richmond or Bulldogs to swoop on him. His ability to play as a Key forward should interest Demons and Doggies so it'll be interesting to see where he goes. Won't put it as a yes as ruckmen/key position players normally take a few seasons to crack into the team, but a maybe as he has potential to somewhere in the season.
