Too Much to Swallow?

Well I have been hoping for a long while now that David will join Andrew at North once his contract is up at Gold Coast.

They have said they want to play together, their mum and dad want them playing together, if not in the WA then Melbourne would be their second choice, Andrew won't leave North Melbourne that's for sure, and GC will have some issues with keeping all their players when the salary cap comes down (Gazza will still be taking truckloads of it)

So, I thought I would bring this issue back up, and see what you guys think of it.

Andrew is staying, for sure. Turned down a big deal recently, showing his loyalty to North and saying that he feels we are close to a very successful period and he wants to be part of it. Future captain of the club, and has set a life up in Melbourne.

Also, for more proof that David will come just look at Brownlow night when their two partners were sitting together, David's was on Andrew's lap I think.

I dont get the whle GC thing, when they cant pay their players in a few years they surely will trade them before their contract is up rather than letting them go. However that would casue the problem of the salry cap again, so what exactly do they do. Also out of interest RB, NMF and caveman would you give up wells for david?

Well Andrew certainly got the good deal there, he had them both while David was left with Gazza's shiny head reflecting the bright lights they have at Crown :P

And Holz, no. The best case scenario is that he nominates North as the club he wants to go to, and ifthat happens we could basically get him for not much (unlikely)

I would give our first and second round picks for him, and maybe a fringe player (Urqhart or someone like that)

Of course Gold Coast players could take pay cuts to keep them together, like what Collingwood will soon have to do. ::)

As for David Swallow, there's no way North would give up Wellsy. Plus, I don't think Wellsy would even want to leave.

Also, as good as the boy is, he'd struggle to get into our best 22. Plus, WE DONT NEED ANOTHER MIDFIELDER!!! >:( >:( >:(

Wells would be 27 by then right? I guess I'd give up Wells for David, Wells is more just an outside player, as opposed to David being an inside and outside, someone who will be just as clean with the ball. I'd prefer to work something out instead like Bastinac + 1st Rounder of that year, but whatever needs to be done short of Goldstein/Ziebell/Swallow should be looked at.

i agree we dont need another mid but would definitely be in our 22, i would play him ahead of everyone bar swallow, wells and jayz. In a few years though i may even play him ahead of some of these guys. here is one that Rooboys would hate but theoretically in a couple of years what are peoples opinion of a 3 way trade.

Eagles send X to GC in return of Swallow
Roos send Swallow to Eagles for Kennedy
