For the size of Tasmania they have supplied a great deal of elite players to the AFL. To name a few:
Richo, Alastair Lynch, Riewoldt (both of them), Gary Lyon, David Neitz, and let's not forget one of the greatest forwards to ever play the game Peter Hudson!
Looking at that list it looks like all the Tasmanians can produce is forwards haha

exactly. NSW isn't a focused afl state, but its two teams next year will probably still outperform SA.

still, NSW puts out its fair share of decent footballers considering the afl 'following' it has  :P
